Advice needed

I have to say PKM, you sound like you struck gold with your wife. Singer, Hooters girl, willing to have a plethora of kids.

You did good PKM, you did real good.

Exciting? Am I 12 years old? It was thought-provoking, genuine, held my attention every single second, and had amazing character development to say just a few things...it was the best show television's ever produced imo...not the most exciting.

Edit: Oh yeah, the pitch perfect acting and writing didn't hurt matters either.

Yeah thats kind of what I figured. I just dont look for intellectual stimulation when I'm choosing a show. I just want it to be entertaining and keep me begging for the next episode. I'm the same way with movies and music. To me its entertainment, not art.

Saw some of heroes .. pretty good, a little cheesy, imo, but watchable. So, of your others listed, which would you call the best, iyo?

24 is really good for the first few seasons but I had a friend who said he re watched the first season and it seemed dated.

Alias is way good especially if you like spy stuff.

Friday Night Lights is way good and probably the most wife friendly, unless she likes action.

Jericho is probably my favorite but it was only on for one season and part of another season. It was awesome though and if you dont mind the story abruptly ending then I would go with that.

Alias

Jericho

Friday Night Lights

The first season or 2 of Heroes

Can't speak to Alias or Friday Night Lights, but Jericho is fantastic and 24 has a few solid seasons, most notably season 5. As for Heroes, you can stop with season 1. Season 2 isn't completely without merit, but it's not as good as season 1 and the rest of the series is abysmal.

I'll add Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Mad Men, Fringe (especially if you're a Lost fan), and Dexter.

Weeds, Californication, Community, Parks and Recreation, and 30 Rock if comedy is your thing.

Probably more that I cant remember. I realize Ill probly get made fun of cuz The Wire is the quintessential guys series, but I just thought it was slooooowww and the only reason I watch tv shows is for entertainment.

The Wire is fantastic. You're insane.

These are better than The Wire? At least throw out Mad Men or something.

Exercise. A lot.

Edit: Get into an active hobby, like trail running or rock climbing. Not only will you take advantage of not drinking by getting in awesome shape. But sex will be better, you'll get ****ing ripped, and you'll feel amazing. It's addictive, like drinking. I drink a lot, I know.

Holy piss, could you possibly get any gayer?

PKM, I would suggest you take up fly fishing. Yes, that is something that needs to be done in the day, but you can tie your own flies by night. Tying is really a challenge, but it's like anything else, if you stick to it, it is rewarding as hell. You can also get into tying your own leaders, furled leaders, poppers, plastics, and more. Fishing is a horridly expensive sport, but if you learn to do things yourself, it is 1/10th the cost, and you get so much more satisfaction out of it.

At the very worst, take up fly fishing. Nothing beats being alone in Gordon's country, stalking a wily fish, fooling that fish, and then letting it go to live life to its fullest. It has all of the awesome of hunting minus the bloody murder.

I've been an accomplished fisherman all my life (in the midwest .. crappie, large, small, blues/channel) .. but must admit I am PISSED that I have never fly fished. I know I want to, but haven't. My buddy OWNs the snake river and another owns 400,000 acres in Patagonia, but I still don't do it because I don't know how. Damn good suggestion .. bit not sure how to get started.

Seriously? Let's get together soon and I'll give you the idiots guide. The hoppers are going to be (or probably are already) popping up on the middle Provo, and even Archie can catch fish up there. We'll talk insurance so it'll be a nice write off/excuse for me. I'm 100% serious here.
