Al Jefferson to Utah? ...Mark Stein's Twitter reports

I guess you forgot we have the most flexible coach in the league.

The coach who runs the same end of quarter/end of half play for the last 10 years that never works? How about the coach that took him 3 years to figure out to start Kirilenko? How about the coach who doubles down on the low post regardless of who the player is or refuses to guard the 3, particularly at the end of games?

Call me skeptical. But than again, it is a bone to throw the fans desperate for any action regardless of outcome.

Who is going to draw double teams without Booz?

According to Ross Siler, the Jazz always doubled teamed Jefferson when the Jazz played Minnesota, because Sloan respected Jefferson's game.

So, in answer to your question, Jefferson will replace Booz as the guy drawing double teams. Probably one reason the trade was made.

Ya that was kind of my my point. I was more or less endorising the deal.

Sloan would double Jarron Collins. He doubles everybody.

My hope is obviously not that Sloan will make any major adjustments. My hope is that Al, who is very talented, will get excited about making his game work in Utah. He's never really played on a winner, and he's definitely never played with anyone like Deron setting him up. I think he can adapt.

would al jefferson be able to play efficient pick and roll? or is he just a low post guy
Pretty much only side screen-roll where he rolls the whole way to the basket. He has a very poor mid-range jump shot and doesn't move quite as well as Boozer does offensively so he's not as apt to slip the screen on high screen-roll and settle in that little 10-12 foot pocket Boozer does.

If he comes to Utah, his meal ticket will be scoring on the left block, something I think he's better than Boozer at.
