"In a photo shoot for Interview magazine, Ocasio-Cortez was pictured wearing a $3,500 outfit as she posed with construction workers. She was decked out in a Gabriela Hearst blazer ($1,990), Gabriela Hearst pants ($890), and some Monolo Blahnik shoes ($625)."

Yet the best thing to happen in politics in a long time, right?
She's an exciting politician because she worked her *** off going door to door engaging constituents who had long been ignored with a platform of economic justice. But yeah, how dare this woman spend money on nice clothes. That's not a sexist line of attack at all.

There's also a really good chance she didn't buy the clothes and they were provided by the clothing companies for the photo shoot. That's a pretty common thing apparently.

Jesus ****ing christ...

I think the line of attack is dumb but it had nothing to do with her being a woman.

Yeah man, I see articles slamming male politicians for wearing nice suits all the time.

Ones supporting socialist ideas? That was the line of attack. Pretty glaringly obvious.

But if you want to be offended go right ahead. But that doesn’t make you right.

Who said I was offended? I'm just calling out ******** when I see it. And yeah, I must have missed the meeting where all democratic socialists agreed that we must appear in public wearing sackcloth. My bad.

As am I.

And yes, your bad. See? we can agree.

Funny. This is just gonna push people to vote for Trump, tbh.

The whole abolish capitalism and private ownership thing will sound good to a few fringe people, but the majority will hate it. Vocal minority will love it though.

With that said, cool story of how she got elected. Don’t agree with her viewpoints at all, but good for her. Plus I just don’t think she’s the least bit dangerous. People on the far left or far right typically work out better for the opposing party come election time.

Trump lost by 3.5 million votes and only 60% of Americans voted. Speaking of vocal minority, that's exactly who voted in Trump, with the help of gerrymandering and voter suppression. I wouldn't hold my breath for Donald Trump to ever have any kind of majority behind him, and 99% of Trump voters guaranteed don't have a clue about this woman. All they know is they hate everyone different from them and can't wait for Mexico to pay for America to build a space force.

Again I hate Bernie's Democratic Socialist moniker that he has picked up. Not only is it innacurate it is actually kinda dangerous.

A person who wants Medicare for all and likes Democracy is not a Democratic Socialist.
Out of curiosity, why do you think it's dangerous? I get that it's not super accurate, but then neither is the Grand Old Party, or even Republicanism these days.

I knew a lot of reasonable people who voted for Trump because and pretty much only because the choice was between Hillary Clinton and Trump.

Trump and his vocal supporters continue to try to put out the Hillary Clinton boogeyman, but she's not running anymore, she's not in any official political position anymore. That card has been played. The 20+ years of vilification paid off and got the Republicans into the White House. Hopefully it was worth it to them because they aren't going to have another Hillary Clinton to scare people with anymore. Without Clinton Trump would never have been elected.
