1. The best player.

I have the best player in the series in Magic Johnson. That's often what a series comes down to, especially in close contests.

2. The starters.

Magic > Paul
Mullin < Kobe
Worthy > Iggy
Barkley = Dirk
Mourning > Gasol

I win the starting matchup 3-2, or 4-1 depending on who you like in the Barkley/Nowitzki match up.

3. Defense.

Dirk/Pau is a terrible starting lineup for interior defense. This is crucial.

How is Dirk/Pau going to stop the penetration of guys like Magic and Worthy, or even their own assignments, Sir Charles and Zo?

I, on the other hand, have one of the best defenders ever anchoring my defense in Alonzo Mourning (2X DPOY).

What really sold this matchup for me was having Magic and Worthy on the same team - putting people who were actually teammates in the real world together increases team chemistry.

Although Kobe and Pau were teammates, too, it wasn't a career-long thing.

In absolutely close match-ups like these I look at who has the most gaps to exploit possibly. I think the major difference comes up in the 2 guard match-up in this one. This is why I'm voting for tfivas' team.
