They won a ring the year before, and the year after. Everyone who watched the series knows how well Malone guarded Duncan.

Duncan still manages to do this though which is saying something:

Game 1: 30
Game 2: 24
Game 3: 10
Game 4: 19
Game 5: 21
Game 6: 20

All the while also having to anchor the defense and guard Shaq as well.

How many rings does Karl have? And how many times did Karl man up and lead his team to the NBA Finals or even the WC Finals? Karl was a great regular season player. He didn't come up clutch in a lot of series, though.

Its a close one, but I personally would have preferred Nowitzki start PF and Duncan C (in this matchup).
both are good teams, Siros Chemistry is good I love the pairing of Nash and Malone but for me the PF and SF depth of One Loves team wins narrowly (although again I could see Duncan at C in this matchup at least half the game)

Thanks bro, I will start Duncan at C and Nowitzki at PF in the next round if I make it through.. :)

Nique is a defensive sieve, Kyrie is a defensive sieve. Yao could be taken out if they pay a small-ball lineup with Matrix, cuz he doesn't have the mobility to collapse PNRs. Duncan thrives in an offense with plenty of gifted passers-- Tim and Kyrie are much too ball dominant IMO. He has a ****-ton of scoring talent, but I always tend to side with the cohesive, defensive teams that will find easy, obvious roles for players & have a couple players that can get you buckets every trip down the floor.

Tim Duncan ball dominant? Dalamon just went full retard.

Prime Duncan would not have won a ring in Utah in the nineties on those teams. I doubt he would have made it as far as Karl did. I think Prime Karl would have won rings on the 00's Spurs. Basketball is a team game and circumstances matter.

I give it to One Love, but I think he did a disservice to himself with his starting line-up. I would have started Duncan @ 5, Dirk @ 4, and Hardaway at point. Dirk would spread the floor for Duncan to operate in the paint and Drexler to drive/dunk/dish. While Duncan plays both 4 and 5, he primarily is a 5 and really only played 4 when he was next to Robinson and the brief period when Splitter started. Kyrie will be great but he can't yet measure up to Tim's HOF career. Why bench the master of the killer crossover for the protege?

I'll definitely put Duncan at 5 and Dirk at 4 in the next round if I make it through. I admit that was a mistake on my part :(

I put Kyrie in the starting lineup to provide 3pt shooting, I was thinking about going with Hardaway as the starter but don't know if voters will discount his 3pt shooting (even though he shot 35.5% over the course of his career). Hardaway is more experienced, very dynamic but yeah .. perception matters in these contests.

Being a good passer doesn't necessarily mean you aren't ball dominant.

OK but for me if you're giving up the rock and and it leads to a basket for someone else, to me that's gotta be good for the team. It means you're getting your teammates involved.
