What's new

All time wasted NBA talents ?

I really liked Anthony Bennett, couldn't believe he sucked so bad in the NBA

And I'll say Trey Lyles because I hate that guy, worst jazz lottery pick ever, thank you Denver

Vin Baker, for sure.
Also, I think Chris Weber qualifies. He was regarded as "the next big thing" when he was drafted. It is true that he had some injuries throught his career -- even early --, but the fact is that he never really developed his game. For instance, despite being a natural ballhandler, his post moves remained raw and he remained an inconsistent jump shooter... As a result, even in his best years, he was not an efficient scorer. For someone hyped as he was as a prospect, I think he underachieved.

Joe Barry Carroll, aka Joe Barely Cares. His nickname says it all, really.
Pervis Ellison. Managed to average 20p/11r, shooting 54%... for one season. The rest of his career is pretty meh at best.
Michael Beasley. His career went up in smoke.

Marcus Camby, who was drafted second overall and had his best scoring season as a rookie (14.8 ppg).
I thought, also, that Xavier Henry — drafted 12th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft — was going to become a new Clyde Drexler, due to his size and athleticism.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hat tips to:
1) Marquese Chriss (million dollar body, ten cent head)
2) Vince Carter (really good career, but could have been an all-timer)
3) Michael Beasley

Beasley’s a good one. I’d take a flier on him. He could be a decent stretch 4. Put up very good stats with the Bucks a year or two ago iirc.
