"Alternative Facts": Trump's War on the Media

When your first political speech is a hate filled paranoid diatribe you have to have man up.

If you cant take it, don't dish it out.

Just like his supporters, Trump can't take it. He's the seventh-grade punk leading his seventh-grade minions who don't have a good enough influence in their lives to recognize that he is an idiot and so are they. Bad parenting has led us down this road.

If I remember right Red came here as a fan of Bryce Cotton a few years ago and has stuck around. So, not any kind of alt and a much, much better poster than the fake clowns around here that criticize him for having a real point of view. Keep up the good word, Red.

Thx str8line/Red/Jonah. Only Q is why make such a obvious defensive post?

Thanks, yeah, I did show up here as a Cotton homer. And, I mentioned in some post a long time ago that I stuck around, one, as a Jazz fan, Utah is my favorite state outside of home, and more to the point, I thought there were a great many thoughtful, intelligent posters here. That really impressed me, the degree to which posters put real thought and effort into their comments. I did not know at the time that there would probably never be a time when a Trump thread would not be on the front page, lol, but I've enjoyed posting my points of view, and I do make an effort to provide thought provoking, non BS articles, etc.

BTW, Cotton plays for Perth in the Australian League now, and turned down a 10 day from Atlanta to finish out the season in Australia.

Forum Laws aside, Boris should really be banned. He pushes off good posters, while being a non-contributing troll alt himself. If this was basketball, his RPM would be like -12. Wouldn't want him on my team.

This interview of Donald Trump by Bill O'Reilly was nearly as entertaining as the Super Bowl.

He did all but say "yes Mr. President Trump. Right away Mr. President Trump." But I'll give O'Reilly points for not trying to kiss his ring afterward.

If we believed the polls, lol, which is debatable at this point, since now we have entered the so-called post truth era. But, seriously, I doubt the crowds for a Clinton inauguration would have set the world on fire, anymore then they did at Trump's. I don't think we would have seen Clinton making a stink over photos, though.

And, judging by the number of leaks from the West Wing, his own staff is concerned:

I love your characterization of it as the post-truth era! It's only appropriate, since we're now so enamored of everything that can be labeled "mid-century modern" - - it sort of fits in with the what we went through in the 1950's with the "Red Scare" and the McCarthy hearings!

at any rate, apparently some Wall Street Journal reporters are concerned about their paper's bias in favor of The Donald

Wall Street Journal staffers are increasingly concerned that the paper’s coverage of President Donald Trump is not critical enough and too willing to defend his actions rather than serve a watchdog role. In interviews with Media Matters, Journal reporters say that there has been pressure “to reflect pro-Trump viewpoints” in articles and that “everyone in the newsroom is concerned about it.”

-----------------------------

“The issue that is more subtle is the pressure to reflect pro-Trump viewpoints in the story, that’s growing,” said one veteran reporter who requested anonymity to avoid retribution. He added that it began during the campaign. “The Journal abdicated its responsibility to punch hard. They should have trained the D.C. bureau on Trump and hit hard.”

Another reporter said the directives from above are unclear, prompting concern about how critical to be of Trump.

“Everyone in the newsroom is concerned about it,” the reporter said. “The concern is that they are over-correcting a little bit, that is the worry, that we are not being as tough on the administration as we could.”

The journalist also raised the issue of normalizing Trump’s behavior when his actions are treated like those of any president.

“That’s the real issue, whether you’re a liberal or conservative outlet, that is the question you have to answer,” the reporter said. “What is the objective term to use to describe what is a lunatic policy? That is a really big worry, as the water drips and erodes this thing.”

While I'm here laughing at Trump's miscues, I have to be an equal opportunist and laugh at Nancy Pelosi recently stating that she would fight President Bush's policies.

Lmfao, Sen. McConnell just formally rebuked Sen. Warren. She is now barred from speaking on the Sessions AG nomination. She appealed and lost a vote 49-43. #ShePersisted lol

The train wreck that both sides have become is something to behold. How long till we see a youtube video of a brawl in the House or Senate?

I have $20 on Warren over McConnell in a cage match.

Typical an expected honesty from a right leaning paper with journalistic integrity. You will not hear anything close to this from the liberal rags that create fake news every day.
