Well, that's the other point. Let's say he's the economic miracle worker Heathme says he is (and I would question how the $1,000,000,000,000 deficit plays into that, but, let's stipulate it for now). How much $$ is the life of, same, 11 elderly Jews in Pittsburgh worth? Or 500 children still locked up in "tender age camps?" The damage done to our world standing, particularly with regard to our longtime Western European allies? Increased racial tensions and the emboldening of avowed (not merely admitted) white supremacists? Etc, etc, ad infinitum...

My job has a budget for the full fiscal year at the beginning of the fiscal year for the first time in 22 years. That’s right. 22. No ******** 3 week shutdowns. Nights were I go to bed hungry because I fed my kids instead.
I bet those parents that are now employed and can put some bread on the table care about the economy.

The ignorance demonstrated in this thread is depressing. Oh, so DJ doesn't believe in democracy. Isn't that why people came here in the first place because when we no longer have a say in how we are governed, then there is no limit to how far those who do will take away our rights. You better study history, DJ, to see what happens to a nation when it is ruled by a small number of people. You end having to do things you are told to do whether you like it or not, and you have no say in the matter. Is that what you want to happen?
And no one in this thread has been able to explain why the so-called statistics show a better economy. Somehow, this mad a-hole in the White House snaps his fingers and everyone is getting employed. Maybe the extra jobs can be attributed to work in the coal mines or building pipelines transporting oil or fracking for oil through the midwest aquifer putting the world's largest supply of fresh water at risk. Maybe there are more jobs with Homeland Security removing illegal aliens and working in detention centers where they are incarcerating their kids. Maybe they need some extra hands to shoot at the homeless people in the Caravan, one-third of whom are children, who are going to invade the U.S. Maybe there are more jobs at the White House to clean up the slop created by the Trump family. I don't know. Do you have any ideas why there are more jobs, who is offering them, and if the average person is actually making more money?

B.S. Show me proof that regulation caused the crash. It was the financial institutions breaking the law that caused the crash. I don't have time to look up the facts, but this is pretty much common knowledge. In fact, that was one of the criticisms of Obama that he didn't prosecute Wall Street for their criminal activities that resulted in it. And it actually was deregulation that caused it or not enough regulation that led lenders to give loans to those who were not qualified. They did not adhere to reasonable limits because of lack of regulation, so that they could profit individually from commissions they would make by contracting these mortgages.
