An Open Apology to Ty Corbin

Burks didn't do much of anything all game until 3rd quarter when Durant and Ibaka went out (+no Westbrook). Scrubs Adams, Collison, Sefalosha, Lamb, Jackson; he abused Lamb for 8 quick points in the remaining 2:26 of the 3rd quarter.

People. Just because Ty did not do a good job coaching last year, does not mean that he will not be a good coach this year.

If you can't see the improvements that he has made in his coaching, then you are blind. He is clearly not a perfect coach (nobody is), but he's doing a hell of a lot better than he did last year. However it is only one game. How about we wait, oh....20 or so game until we can get a clear view of what he's going to do this year.

This ain't that difficult.

Although Corbin could have brought Burks back a little sooner IMO, let's be honest: we did not lose the game because of coaching. In fact, Corbin's decision to keep the backups for longer in the game was the main reason we had a chance to win. I'm willing to give Ty a chance, especially because his PGs right now almost make me wish we had the great McLeod/Palacio duo back.

I'm sorry, but I missed the link where Kanter is still suffering from his injury and your reference to his coasting isn't backed-up by his 3rd quarter performance: He had 6 pts and 8 reb during the 3rd quarter, so why did he miss the first 9 minutes of the 4th?

Kanter just isn't right yet, just look at his listless rebounding in the first half. I don't think he is still injured, but he isn't quite in game shape yet either. I'm not worried about it because he will come along, but right now he isn't being physically assertive or dominant like he can be. I certainly do not want him falling in love with that jumper like he was in the first half, and would rather he come out and rest if he is going to do that. That way he can go back out and play like he did after halftime. It is entirely possible that the effort he put forth in the 2nd wore him down, especially as his defense was decent too. Gobert was anchoring the defense in the 4th and was still relatively fresh, I'm OK with the decision to leave him in at that point. Also remember that the jazz are playing 3 games in 4 nights with 10 players, minutes will get distributed pretty evenly I would suspect.

I will complain about corbin's stupid substitution patterns until two things happen. He stops pulling kanter out 6 minutes into every game (regardless the score or how he is playing) or until kanter plays 35 plus minutes a night. Kanter is the future of the Jazz. He makes mistakes that can only be fixed by more time on the court. He needs more time not less. You live with his mistakes because if he reaches max potential he could be special.

I hope he continues to do this and runs a 3 man rotation with Favors, kanter, Gobert. The other option would be to start gobert and pull him @ 3 mins.

Some people are going to bash Corbin no matter what. They have already made up their minds. The idea is that Corbin is 50 so he should already know. How long as he been a head coach? Even being an assistant isn't the same as a head coach. I don't know if Ty will succeed or not but I am hoping that he does succeed because that means the Jazz are winning.

I thought overall he did a good job. However, I want to see more Kanter and less Lucas III. At this point I would rather see Burks play more minutes at PG so we can reduce Lucas' minutes. I am hoping as Tinsley gets into game shape he will get more minutes and then when Burke gets back he will get the majority of minutes.

I agree.

Corbin is so young and inexperienced.

We should forget his non-existent offense, horrible rotations, and lack of adjustments. In 10 years, he might learn something.
