You can call it a loser mentality all you like but it is the responsibility of the NBA to make officiating as even and consistent as possible. I generally support officials while at the game and tell fans that was the correct call. There is zero doubt in my mind that the officiating will in the end cost the Jazz the playoffs this season. Lopez' hook and the no call on the Withey dunk against Houston are two direct losses I can think of off the top of my head. Should the Jazz have done better and not been in those situations sure, fine. That does not change the fact that they lost due to officiating. With as many close games as we have had this year and in a race as tight as it is that will be enough. Officiating effects the flow of the game. People complain that Hayward is not a number one option. If he got the calls of most teams number one options we would be competing for home court instead of eighth.
