Another U player to go #1 overall in the draft?

I think it might be just a little early to start thinking about the 2013 darft.

I know he's a beast that clogs the line and that's his main utility, but don't you have be a wee bit more productive to be a defensive lineman and get #1 status?

He's often the subject of triple teams. Pac 12 offensive lineman voted him the hardest dlineman to block after this past season. Every week he's the centerpiece of the opposing offenses game planning. His production would be mind boggling if he was the subject of one-on-one blocking. Hell, his production would probably still be amazing even if he was just double teamed all the time. Since his numbers are hard to quantify, I think people are so high on him for the simple fact that he demands so much attention from the offense, that it allows several of his teammates to flow freely to the ball.

Do I think he'll be the #1 pick? No. QB is at too much of a premium in todays NFL. Barkley and the Arkansas QB will most definitely go ahead of Star. However, he will be a Top 5 or 10 pick and he should be.

With the Rams having two (probably top 12) picks next year, I'm dreaming about Star in blue and gold.

Yeah unless you think he's gonna but a Suh or Ngata type hard to say he'd go #1 and even then if you thought he was it would still be hard as DT's just don't go that high often. It is nice to see him get some pub and even coming back, here's to hoping he can handle the expectations and pressure.

If the Colts get the #1 pick again, they better not draft Star with it. I'm sure they could trade that pick and drop down and still get Star in the top 10. I think the Rams will have the #1 pick next year. The NFC West plays both the NFC North and AFC East this year. The Rams schedule is brutal.

Aside from the Pats, the AFC East was a cakewalk last year. I don't think the NFC North will be as good as last year.

FWIW

Personally I see it differently this year. I think Buffalo and Miami will be better teams, and New England is New England. The Jets aren't a cakewalk either. The NFC North will have 3 teams fighting for a playoff spot again. Minnesota is the only game out of the 8 that the Rams have a shot of winning.

Sadly, against my Jets, any team has a shot at winning.

Perhaps a better question than where Star will go in the draft: Will BYU go 3 straight years without getting a player drafted at all?

All jabs aside, I'm sure Matt Reynolds will break the draftless streak.

Star is an animal.... But he surely isn't going #1. That is for USC QB and soon to be Heisman and national champ, Matthew Barkley.

But the problem for the Utes the last two years hasn't been on the defensive side....

The biggest question is, is Wynn going to give the Utes anything positive before he breaks? Or will he continue to throw passes into the asses and shoulders of his linemen? And after he breaks a shoulder after game 4, will the Utes start a freshmen or the dude who played most of last season?

Lane Kiffin seems too stupid to win a national title but at this point, I just want to see the SEC's streak of championships come to an end.
