Yeah... he could elevate his trade value... Holiday trade is much more likely to happen in the offseason.

Of course if Exum is healthy and playing well... we will be less inclined to move him... it's the vicious trade value cycle.

And yeah, I think a lot of its development staff issue. The Lakers are infamous for having a terrible/under qualified/under manned staff. He was a very good 3pt shooter at UCLA on NBA range 3s and shot 67% from the ft line. A change of scenery w/ a strong development staff is what he needs.

Obviously. I also don't agree that his dad's behavior is just what a normal loving father should do, as Cy seems to think. It's the opposite of what I'd want in a team culture. It would be like if the Jazz signed Eric Trump.

If NOLA is tanking, they have absolutely zero interest in Rubio except for as an expiring. If they would rather have Rubio's expiring than Exum, I'm fine with that (although trading Exum wouldn't shake up the locker room dynamic as much).

I don't know of another team in the league who could or would send 3 first rounders for Jrue. Sure they have to take back Biyombo or MKG, but dumping the $80 million remaining on Jrue's contract for straight expirings might be impossible. We could send Rubio and Favors, but I'm not sending our 3 first rounders. Maybe we take Biyombo back?
 
Okay, so here is the trade:

Hornets get Favors
Jazz get Jrue Holiday and Marvin Williams
Pelicans get Rubio, Niang, 1st from Charlotte, 2 1sts from Utah

Our only weakness would be back up C. We could go with Biyombo instead of Marvin, but I've always liked Marvin and he loved playing here.

The Pelicans save like $8 million in this deal this year and the rest of Jrue's money (2019-2022).
 
It would be weird if we traded for Lonzo. Can you imagine the Jazz being talked about daily because of Lamar talking and stuff?
 
**** it trade Gobert for AD. Favors and Crowder can play next to AD wonderfully. Hell, lets get Jrue as well. This trade plus whatever picks we can give them:

We can beat GS next year after 1 or 2 of their all-stars leave.

0% chance the Jazz take that risk and probably still not enough to land AD and Jrue.

I would in a heart beat. But we might as well play hard ball and keep Exum. Through in Sef to make salaries work.

But I dont really care about our team name at all. I kind of think its dumb. I just like the team.
