Any chance Jeremy Evans starts?

Marvin Williams won't be ready til mid-season. Rush is coming off an injury and he won't know the offense. Plus I like the idea of Burks being our 6th man and giving him the green light in the second unit. So for depth purpose and "playing young" that could put Hayward at SG and Evans at SF. That is a very long front line with Favors, Kanter and Evans. That would be a fun starting lineup to watch.

Burke
Hayward/Burks
Evans/Rush/Jefferson/Williams
Favors/Biedrins
Kanter/Gobert

Evans jump shot is looking good and I think how he is playing now makes him the perfect SF. Jazz should give it a shot.

He doesn't space the floor. I think he's supposed to be a back-up PF more than an SF, but who knows, maybe he'd start some games.

I think Ty will start Rush in place of Marvin. Jeremy would be fun to watch; but I doubt Ty will do that.

Just start the core 4 and burke damn it!
I have been waiting for 2 years to see hayward, burks, favors, and kanter start together.

I don't think he will start but if Jeremy wants to play he has to be assertive and use his jump shot. When he does he plays pretty well. I would love it if Evans got backup minutes and showed he can play a role on the team.

I don't think so. Favors and Kanter need to be on the floor with shooters. Evans unfortunately is just not a SF. Can't dribble, Pass or shoot well enough to man that spot. As well as can't defend the perimeter well enough. Maybe as a backup against other backup SF's but not as a starter.

I'm sorry, but for everyone that has posted thus far anything other than "lol" is insane. Truly.

I try not to be that rude and take every dump idea at face value. But you are correct I did laugh to myself when I read it.

I don't think Evans has the shooting range for a small forward.

He totally doesn't, he probably could never hit a 3 points. But that doesn't mean its "laughable" that he's a SF. He got about minutes at that spot before. In fact ESPN his him listed as a SF.

Agreed, Evans will get more burn; but i don't think much. I really don't think there is anyway to predict what the hell is going to happen this season anyway.

Evans needs to be the DMC of the Jazz this season--hustle, provide energy, get loose balls and blocks. He is a good change of pace energy guy off the bench at either forward position.

I disagree. Watching the summer league (yeah, summer league, bear with me) He is showing improved agility and a pretty spot on mid range shot. The SF doesn't neccisarially need to nail the three, as long as they know how to cut and nail the mid range shot off the pick. (especially now that the team has pick and roll point guards) Again, Jeremy is showing better dribbling and shooting in the summer league, he doesn't look nearly as stiff either, and I was one of his biggest critics last season. I don't think he starts over Hayward, but if he can play 3 and 4 his value will be significant.

Anyone notice that his measurements are eerily similar to Durant?
(edit: ok, i checked, and while his height and wingspan are almost identical, Durant had several pounds on him last season. I say last season because Jeremy is definitely 'buffer' this year, and I will eagerly await the weigh in this year.)
