In Corbin's mind the team is better when Favors and Kanter don't play together, plus it wasn't a good idea to play them together with the way the suns play.

while turning a defensive favor into a offensive player

Kanter does not look good right now. It's understandable since he still looks exactly like a after injury raw player. But he also looks dumb again on offense and effortless on defense. Kinda like the rookie season, but no effort in boards and more easy to be pushed around on boxouts. I think it's the right thing to sit him but I still can't tell whether he will be affected positively or negatively psychologically.

I don't think the Jazz are "trying to turn" either player into an offensive/defensive player per se. I think they are trying to see what they have. To see if either player CAN also play offense/defense. Evaluate from there and see what the team needs going forward.

I never bought Favors as a solely defensive player. You know, when it comes to aggression, it's the quiet guys you need to watch out for. He probably has a hot fire inside of him trying to get out, and maybe he's figuring out how. It seems that he can't focus on both. Before, he was blocking shots with his aggression. Now he is dunking the ball. Hope he can figure out how to do both soon.

It seems that if there is a Vet to play, Corbin will play that vet rather than grind the youth. You would almost have to give him a team full of nothing but rookie contract players for him not to play them.
