Anyone want to go fish Lake Powell with me tomorrow?

It's a long shot, but I'm going. Make it to STG and I'll drive the rest of the way. I'll be in a Pontoon boat. I can probably manage to get you one if you don't have one.

Would love to. It's a pretty long commute from Reno however. Maybe I can convince the wife I have to go away on business and spend the electric bill money on a plane ticket. Muah-ha ha ha ha!

Tomorrow lol

So much lol'ing in this thread.

I knew it was a long shot, but why not ask? I was going to ice fish w/ Archibald Moses later this week, but knew he'd puss-out on me and changed my plans for tomorrow.

I suppose I should also say that this is an open invitation for anyone to come down, anytime, and I'll figure out a way to go hit the water with you. I need like, maybe 15 minutes notice though.

EJ they have been pulling 10 - 15 lb cutthroats out of Pyramid lake. And bigger. Recently someone caught a 20 pounder. Just sayin.

Huge cutthroat are being caught at Pyramid Lake: The "Pilot Peak" strain of cutthroat, descendants of the original strain of fish that disappeared decades ago, are now being caught at Pyramid Lake. Some of these fish are 20 pounds and bigger.

Just so happens that I'll be in Ticaboo for work. I'm guessing you'll be on the other side though?

I was going to go to Wahwheap, but I don't mind traveling if it means time spent w/ franklin on the water. I'm guessing that you didn't foresee this trip and didn't pack your 'toon though?

Great picture, BeanDowns. I am sure Ledger got what he deserved because he was biologically unsound.

I was fibbing. I had to chose between Moab and Ticaboo, and took Moab. You wouldn't want to make that drive anyway -- 6 hrs from the Geezy.

If my boss ever sends me jackbooting down to STG again then I'd love a tour of Quail. My last trip there was a pregnancy nightmare event to forget, but damn how good does swimming in warm water in April after cold SLC winters feel. Beautiful lake ... too bad that other one gives you jock crabies.

I would like to check out quail as well..... never stopped there, just drove by like a million times

I have no officially fished it three times, and I have yet to see nary a sign of a fish in that lake. I know that they are in there, because I've heard people talk about it, but you would think that in three full trips you'd see at least one fish jump. Or maybe some fry. Or maybe a dead one somewhere. But no, not me. I hate that lake.

If you're not one of these typical backwoods, Utah slimer purists then you'd have a blast. It's one of the few Utah waters with half decent (i.e. midget sized but not dinkers) LMB. If you are a slimer purist then they got plenty of those for you as well.

There's also some pretty good cliff jumping spots, and the clear water makes kayaking on dead water as fun as is possible. It's a beautiful lake that I'd visit for a week every spring if it wasn't for our non-European vacation hours thingy.

Bass are hard to fish. You'd better stick to the trout dums.
