The Lakers and Celtics both will garner top 3 picks in this year's draft, and the Lakers will find a way to end up with 2 picks in the top 10, if not 3.

So the Lakers will just magically get two top ten picks? What is the NBA gonna do, just say that there are 31 picks in the draft this year?

Just keeping the conspiracy alive. The Lakers will pull off another BS trade like the one that brought them Gasol in the first place. 3 future 2nd round picks and Steve Nash for the #5 and 2 future first rounders unprotected. The Lakers will get the #1 pick, the Celtics likely #2, regardless of their records at the end of the season as long as they make the lottery.

So then the Lakers draft Embiid and Exum. Or Randle or Parker if they are available at 5 even. Then they acquire LBJ. Trade away Gasol for filler, or in keeping with the conspiracy, trade away Gasol for another all-star and/or top picks later.

Good for a 3-4 rings in a row and the reinstatement of the NBA darlings to the elite.

Can you imagine exum playing with embiid though? That would be a thing of beauty.

It would be. Or, if they are playing for the Lakers, a thing of emesis. Violent projectile emesis.
 
New conspiracy: the NBA has under the table deals with the smaller markets in the NBA, that if they are willing to be the scapegoats, the also-rans, then they get a chunk of the NBA total profit. So by playing middle of the road and not complaining when the Lakers get the #1 and #4 picks, the Jazz will get a piece of the pie.
