Are the Jazz a great PG away from serious contention?

Wasn't that one of the gripes that DWill had last year? I seem to remember that he complained about the PnR D.

I don't remember this. I remember Dwill complaining that they didn't watch enough film.

Jimmer. No question. And I'm not even a huge fan of Jimmer as a pro. But at least he provides some shooting. I've seen enough out of control drives and airballs from Harris. Dude doesn't have range outside of a layup and rarely gets to the rim anymore. Defensively, they're probably equally pathetic.

That is what I was thinking. Defense will still be terrible but at least we would get better passing and shooting. I am not a huge Jimmer fan either. I just know that alot of Jazz fans are.

im one who wants Rondo (Harris/Jefferson/cond #1) but who else is available...

Felton-Harris swap, both underperforming??
Miller-Harris swap, I'd rather have Watson play over Miller, similar players.
Nelson-Harris swap, eh...
Calderon-Harris swap, defensive liability...
Augustine/Diaw-Harris/Miles swap, I think I like this one (DJ is hurt but can hit the 3, dumping CJ allows Howard/Burks more PT, Diaw's contract expires or flip him in a 3-way).

Rondo would be the perfect fit and a total disaster for this team. Figure it out. What the Jazz need is mental toughness more than anything. The rookies are too young to provide it (though the best thing about the young core is that they all show signs of heart and toughness) and the vets simply aren't good enough players for it to matter. True talent and mental toughness makes a contender. Keep dreaming about an elite PG riding in to the rescue.

Rondo is the C's best player. So why the hell are they constantly trying to get rid of him?

Dude is a complete jerk. Didn't we learn our lesson from Dwill guys?

We are Utah Jazz. We're not a flashy market, we don't have a great African-American population, no night life, "weird" Christian religion dominates, no south beach (unless you consider Salt Lake a beach), no strong movie market here, we're a small market, etc.

We need guys that aren't jerks and want to be here. A few missteps (like Portland in the early 2000s) could mean the difference between this team staying in Utah and being moved to a different location.

Unlike Tinsley and Howard, Rondo is already established, has his contract, and is in the prime of his career. Tinsley and Howard are merely trying out for other teams. Of course they're going to be on their best behavior, since they're fighting for their careers.
