What's new

Are we even going to talk about balls?

I do think an adjustment to the ball has something to do with it. So many high volume guys have started the season way off. Not sure there is a switch coming or if they just need to adjust.

Donovan and JC are both top 5 in 3 point attempts per minute... if both guys are struggling (one in an extreme struggle) it will throw our percentages way off. They shoot 20 threes a night combined. If they were making 35% there would be no discussion... and we'd likely be undefeated.
DM under 30 and jc on 20%and ppl here talking about defense. And btw we getting destroyed by guards not forwards but ppl waching stats not games

The NBA got some big new balls this year. Turns out most of the players were more comfortable with the old balls.

Did the NBA need new balls? Is it sometimes better to play with new balls vs whatever old balls you've been playing with?

Will the players ever get their stroke down with these new balls? I think we all want to see these new balls drop like the old balls did, right?

So anyway... What's up with these new balls the NBA wants to shove into our face?
Just looking at the picture I think I would prefer the wilson. Which ones are they using this year?

Not exactly, they changed the cover texture of the ball a while back and the players went ape ****. The NBA switched back to the old cover material the next season. Also thanks for reminding me I’ve got 1/2 a NY Strip leftover that will work well for breakfast.
lol

Bogey's shooting 30% from 3 for the season and Donovan, Clarkson, Paschall and Butler are all blow 30%. Don't know if it's the balls or what but those percentages are bound to rise as the season goes on.
And many of bogeys misses have been wide open. He is too good a shooter for that to continue

NPR talked about the ball change. They cited a company that has done studies on the two different balls and how shooting around the league has plummeted to start the year. It's not just the Jazz.

They mentioned how when the new balls get wet, it doesn't release the same way. Apparently old balls don't affect the release even when sweat gets on them (which has been my old ball experience) and as such they have a nicer release (which has also been my old ball experience).

Speaking of balls... I had a weird dream last night after my newborn woke me up too early. In my dream I was going on a flight with the Jazz to their next game (which was super cool). However, Rudy, Donovan, and Conley all announced together that they are Transgender and that they had just had some operations and style changes to show the world where they stand. They looked like a weird reddit mashup of themselves and masculine 'babes'. And on account of the big news, I had to ride a bus to Cali for the game instead of fly in the plane. Very disappointing on all counts.

I BLAME THE WET BALLS...

When we gonna learn that old balls are fine and to stop trying to improve perfectly fine balls.

All of this makes sense… except for the dream… that’s some wild ****. I heard the shots are off by a greater percentage the further out you go which makes some sense with the guys you see struggling right now. I do wonder if it improves as guys get used to it or if it’s a flaw we have to live with.

The first thing you do when things are crashing down and everyone hates it is you double down. You tell everyone to be patient and you say “trust us,” hoping that it buys you time where you hope the issue will resolve itself spontaneously (because there’s nothing more you can do). When that fails, as it inevitably will, you move to plan B which is to triple down. Eventually people get fatigued of complaining and then you’re far enough removed from the initial arguments that you can move to the next step that’s wildly successful: gaslighting.

Is there a rinse and repeat step.

I was rewatching the highlights and there seems to be more two handed passes then I remember and less one handed passes. This new ball is strange.
