I'm bringing this up because of the interview of Elizabeth Warren on the Daily Show about the consumer agency

Very complex subject, very simple question. I am PRO business regulationl, depending on lots of things. Witness the recent melt-down of the economy tied very strongly to de-regulation. Some form is needed in some industries more than others. The financial industry needs more regulation than, say, the under-water basket-weaving industry, as booming as it may be.

Is there anyone who would seriously take the universal position that no regulation is ever a good idea?

Probably need to re-word the question.

Grover Norquist.

Nope! Example:

Surprisingly, recent editorials or letters penned by conservatives Jim Glassman of the American Enterprise Institute; grassroots activist Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform; and constitutional scholar Bruce Fein, have suggested that mandates, not markets, are the solution. In their work, these conservatives-who are typically tireless champions of free markets and less government-seem to be singing a very different tune when it comes to telecom and broadband regulation.

LOL - well then I change my answer to the author of the article that you just posted.

A fair point, but the fact that you have to be to the right of Grover Norquist tells you everything about the extreme nature of that position.

I wasn't talking in absolutes just are you PRO or CON. It is obvious that there are some regulations that are a necessity. But, like these video are talking about a new consumer agency. Would you want this or are you against the government getting into and messing with Capitalism?

I agree there are some regulations that are in themselves developed to manipulate the market and make it into a predatory system. Like the regulations in this article and BCS. But, I just think that there was $$$ that helped to create these regulatory agencies. I'm talking about ones that are created to stop the Capitalistic predatory companies.
