At Least the JVs Won

Stars beat Lakeland on the road last night. Lakeland has the best record in the GLeague east. Cavanaugh had 31 and Naz 23. No Bradley or Allen for the Stars but they do have some D2 players and some guys they signed off the street.

Stars beat Iowa at home last night. Cavanaugh was Pro Exposure's player of the day with 32 points 16 boards. Naz and Jarius Lyles both had 20+ games. Grayson Allen had 16 points.

Stars lost by 8. Naz had 31 and 5 assists. Cavanaugh had 21 and 9 boards. Game was reffed by Tim Donaghy who tossed out Haas for complaining about fouls called on him when he visciously attacked a guy's elbow with his chin twice. Stars got no help from the Jazz tonight with no Grayson and no Niang. Clipps send down the 13th player taken in the draft to play. He is good.

Stars beat Rio Grande Valley, the team with the 2nd best record, tonight on the road by 12 although the score was not that close. Lyles went for 41, Herpes 19 and 11 with 3 blocks and did not miss a hot. 7-7 from the field and 5-5 from the line. Allen came back in garbage time to give himself a respectable stat line. Isiah Cousins was solid too. Diamond Stone looked like dog meat for the Vipers.

Lyles tonight 11-14 shooting 8-10 from 3 and 11-12 from the line. I guess he flashed back to playing for Maryland Baltimore County against Virginia in the NCAA tournament.

Stars beat Texas by 28. Herpes lead the way with 26 points, Cavanaugh had 21. Isiah Cousins played a solid game at the point. No Naz tonight.

Stop the freaking presses. Both Allen and Bradley looked like ballers tonight. Allen had 21 and Bradley had 17 in limited minutes. Their only warts were they were both 1-4 from the line. Bradley was 8-8 from the field. Naz, Cavanaugh and Isiah Cousins were all over 20 points and Cousins had 13 assists. The Stars won by 27 on the road vs. Sioux Falls and sat Jairus Lyles who had 41 the last game. .

Top 10 scorers in the GLeague. How many even sniff significant mins in the NBA?
# Player
1 Jordan McRae
2 Christian Wood
3 Chris Boucher
4 Johnathan Motley
5 Yante Maten
6 Jordan Loyd
7 Darius Johnson-Odom
8 Marcus Thornton
9 PJ Dozier
10 Kalin Lucas

I don't think a good game here and there is worthy of stopping the presses. Maybe if one of them dominates for a solid month or two.

Being a scorer at this level doesn't mean a whole lot. See Mo Almond, Pierre Jackson or Kevin Murphy. Krysko the Utes head coach has been a Coach in the GLeague and said the most important part was playing D, doing some things that don't show up in box score like setting picks and boxing out. Also you do have to be able to knock down the 15-18 foot shot when open. What was encouraging last night for Allen and Bradley was they didn't suck as the minor league level. Basically they had all year up to that point.

Stars lose by one today. Good efforts by Allen and Bradley. Allen had 25 points and Bradley was 7-10 shooting. Lyles and Herpes were the goats. Lyles was 0-8 and how is this for Herpes line? 4 minutes played -10 while on the floor while committing 5 fouls and 3 turnovers and going scoreless. Cavanaugh 15 points 14 boards and Naz DNP.
