In regard to pot and other substances I think are used to our detriment, I take a dim view of governments or laws based on a view that authoritarian or intellectual or scientific elites should have power to regulate our use of chemical or medical substances.
I will advise anyone who's interested that work, particularly the kind a person can feel good about for any reason, is a path to a more substantial happiness in life than anything a chemical can do for you. Isee no goodin such chemical kicks.

In regard to Siro's views, I don't claim human rights are given by any authority, whether society, God, or governments.
Human rights might derive from our innate characteristics, or from our existence, or nature.
The right to life exists because life is in itself a transcendent value. Other rights cannot be given, they derive from the supreme value of life. The right to think, to comprehend, to act, to speak, to believe, to access natural resources and acquire and use them, to seek personal happiness, joy, to make personal decisions, etc., all follow logically from life itself.

The problem with the UN is that it is fascist in organization, and treats human beings like cattle to be managed according to special privileged overseers. To me, it will result in human servitude not unlike medieval society with a royal class and an impoverished peasantry.

I don't think the world is run by conspiracists, because there are many intelligent independent decision makers. A corporation is not a conspiracy because it pursues plans to increase market share or shareholder profits.
The UN and affiliated organizations and governments are not a conspiracy because they hold big meetings and publish their aims and programs. They do aim to manage mankind, and will tell as much in so many words.
I could go into various schemes for manipulating the public for any reason. Generally,actors don't possess a complete picture. Of the project. No one is told more than they need to know, and there is substantial reliance on compromised persons, or some compensation significant enough to secure loyalty or compliance.

Iran happens to be a strategic nation which both Russia and US need to have good relations with, at almost any cost. I remember being buttonholed by an Israeli cabinet member over 35 years ago and told at great length why Iran is their number one concern in the Middle East. I also have Iranian contacts, and am aware of some authorities on the subject who can make informed arguments about Iran's nuke program actually being an interest in peaceful uses such as nuclear power. After all, with their dependence on imported oil for electric generation plants. . . . . lol . . . . and being sandwiched in between Russia, India, and China. . . . not to mention Pakistan and Israel, why would they ever need nuclear weapons? I mean, really. Their argument is that as a sovereign nation they should have a right to any weapon they might need in their own defense. . . . .
uhhhh. . . . hummmm. . . . . and then they have officials who spout off, like little strutting roosters. . . . saying they will be proud to eliminate Israel from the map together with the Jews. They are after all, ruled by one of the most fascist of governments on the planet, but unfortunately for us they will not be our little dildoe or a good UN patsie. They don't like the Russians any better, either.

A long time ago, the powerful communist wing of Israeli Zionism cut a deal with Russia, promising to never ever make peace with their neighbors while seeking US support through our Christian folks and their representatives in our government, which the leftist have had great fun with, making us look very bad to a lot of Middle Easterners. The British opened the door for the Zionists as part of their usual strategy for compensating for their small population base, to create divisions around the world between other peoples and keep them fighting one another so the Brit worldwide corporates can keep their little cartel operations afloat because nobody else has peace enough or money enough to start competitive global corporates. . . . .
One thing I give Obama credit for is not getting us into a war with Iran. God bless him.
However, Obama has made a tactical mistake by letting the conservatives get the upper hand in smoozzzing the Israelis. He should be out there glad-handing the minister because his ability to do that would strengthen his hand in dealing with everyone else.

Nobody knows what they're gonna do. All I know is they have budgets that are off-the-record plus a lot of drug cash from peddling dope and pot. The stupid TV newsreaders don't know anything, even our President doesn't know anything. Not ever 90% of their closest associates in their jobs, probably not even 99%. They have badges and security clearances, and they can dictate to local law enforcement and emergency response folks that they are in charge of whatever they want to be in charge of.
It'd be cool if folks in the CFR had any idea of what is going on in the world, too, but they are mostly smucks who were recruited because they were important in their professional or business fields. They go to meetings and listen to selected speakers addressing world events and maybe some plans for solving some problem or another, but aside from digesting the meal, it means nothing. They are just so proud of being there, they can't even think about what is being said.
Even people like George Bush, who loves to throw out that little sneer, "Conspiracy Theorist" at anyone who knows his grandpappy Prescott Bush carried the satchel with the money from Brown Brothers Harriman and handed it to Adolf Hitler to fund his takeover of Germany. . . . a few months prior to Reichstag fire that gave Hitler an excuse to assert essentially dictatorial power in Germany, really knows nothing about how this world works. He's a mere puppet in the grand scheme of things, and has no brain to invent an actual idea of his own. . . . .
It is nothing less, or more, than FEAR that runs this world. Everybody everywhere who has some kind of interest in the world, some cash cow, some govt. job, some corporate niche, lives in FEAR. None of them know a damn thing.
But there are players who see some kind of angle to work against that stupid FEAR, and a few of them are little rogue government employees who have learned that nobody can, or will, touch them. . . . because everybody is paralyzed by FEAR.
So the simple reason why we had Adolf Hitler was because our Congress passed a law restricting corporate giants from gaining monopoly power in our markets. We forced the breakup of some banks, some oil companies, some manufacturers. . . . So our corporate moguls went abroad looking for favorable conditions for investment, where they didn't face those restrictions. The Rockefellers invested heavily in German industries, chemical, oil, pharmaceuticals. . . . others invested in German auto industries, you know, like the Fords. The King of England was very fond of Hitler early on, as were many of our Yale intellectuals and our industrialists.
They didn't go broke providing the material for both sides of that war, either.
