LOL - I can tell you in Texas pretty much anything goes. You can buy a gun, rifle, whatever, this morning, as long as it's used, through about a hundred different trade papers.
No license, background check...nothing.
I had a co-worker in Texas (my boss actually) that had owned about 30 guns in his lifetime - everyone of them purchased through a gun show or used.
It's not about them being used or not. He's buying privately owned firearms from private citizens that do not make a living selling guns (not FFL holders). Any gun shop, any person who makes a living selling firearms, any person who has an FFL and sells a gun, must run a background check every time they sell a gun, no matter where or when...even at a gun show.
