Beastie Boys - Ricky's Theme

Starting to actually listen to BB albums in full. Pretty good stuff. Never really looked into them too much besides the singles.

I know you are rather young. The hip hop revolution went on almost unnoticed beside the gangster rap ascension. BBoys and Tribe represented that era to a T.

Edit: a little Tribe

Greatest album ever from the BBoys.

They have a couple of decent Jams, but c'mon, they are the annoying version of Run DMC at best. I couldn't imagine growing up in that era, hearing Run DMC, and then hearing the Beastie Boys and actually liking them.

Sorry but your taste in music blows bro. Run DMC is completely overrated garbage that white America could live with. The Beastie Boys blow them away, and if you still think Jewish rap is a bad sell and that they only sold to whites too, then I'll go with my Public Enemy was light years better than DMC argument. 'Cause they were.

You mean... kinda like you?

Their first album - maybe I could see where you're comin from. But it was all a parody of that lifestyle and more of a gimmick.... I still appreciate some of the songs off Licensed to Ill, but I like almost all their other albums better.

Paul's Boutique and everything after is real Hip-Hop.

But for you and the other posters who felt compelled to come in this thread and spit on someone's grave, I applaud you. Takes a special kind of person to do that.
