Not quite OneYoungNickkk, but I like where your head was at - don't listen to those other guys. So the Jazzfanz logo was the first logo I've ever tried to make - it was inspired by the PUMA logo. One of my favorites. I actually liked the JazzFanz logo without the tagline, but I suppose it;s cool to recognize how long the site has been live.
The silhouette of Karl came straight from this image.
My original idea was to have silhouettes of different jazz players appear in the logo each time you refreshed the page. Or maybe it switched up every few weeks with 10 players or so interchanging. Stockton, Eaton, Pistol, Griffith and some current guys. But that seemed like a ton of work and maybe not even possible.
I definitely have no ownership or attachment to the current logo and sometimes wonder if/when it will change. I do think it was a nice transition logo while we got used to the new format/look of the site - it just kept things clean. But change is always good. Artistic expression even better. I loved the logo contest and always get a laugh from all the good and horrible photo shopping from Dala, Trout, McGibblets, and others.
