Why not another Bell thread? I just saw a question on KSL news asking if the trade deadline was discussed, to which he paused, answered in the affirmative, paused again and got a big grin. If someone else has it they can post it.

Bell for Knight?
Bell for Rubio?
Bell for NJ's pick?
Bell for Aaron McKie?
Bell for Dell Harris?
Bell for Dell Schanze?

Of course it was, that's the primary reason why Bell is getting this amount of playing time. We're nearing the deadline. I doubt the Jazz make a trade, but they're milking Raja Bell for all he's worth. The problem is, Bell isn't producing in those minutes like they'd want.

It's pretty clear the Jazz are trying to trade him though.

On a completely unrelated note (since you mention Dell Schanze), I had the misfortune of interacting with Super Dell as a potential customer of Totally Awesome Computers. Suffice to say that both the store staff and Super Dell were complete jerks who, with even a mild affectation of giving a **** about me, could have had my business. But they were arrogant pricks every one of them, and I left there vowing never to do business with them again. I am guessing I was not the only one to have that kind of experience, seeing how Super Dell eventually went down in flames. I don't generally cheer when misfortune befalls people, but I cheered when Super Dell met his comeuppance. It was all well deserved and couldn't have happened to a bigger ***.

It obviously requires a bit of reading (listening) between the lines, but I think it's pretty clear that Bell may not have asked for a trade, but that both sides are open to it. And they should be. Whether the Jazz have any hope of making the playoffs or not, it isn't like Bell is helping get them there anyway. Hopefully they trade him so they can spread the minutes around a bit. It's just criminal that his 27 minutes kept both Howard and Miles from playing 36+.

For what it is worth:

With Thursday's deadline approaching, Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor admitted the team is "actively looking" at trade scenarios. "In the job that I have, one of the responsibilities is to improve the team," O'Connor said. "Now you can't improve the team without looking to make trades, and that's what we do. There's 29 other guys that have the same responsibilities to their teams, and they do the same thing. There's a lot of conversations." O'Connor noted that not much trading has gone on yet around the logjammed NBA. But he likes the Jazz's "flexibility" approaching this deadline and in the offseason. "We're active. We're listening," O'Connor said. "We're aggressive in trying to talk (about) things." Deseret News

I just read that too. I also like the Jazz' flexibility. They can trade a wing without necessarily getting a wing back. They could trade a PG without getting a PG back. And they might even be able to trade a big without getting a big back, although that proposition is a little riskier. They have enough roster depth that even with a trade, they still have 2 points, 4 wings and a 3-man big rotation. Especially when you consider only 23 games and 40 days left.

"Remember trade deadline 2011, when Utah, without warning, dealt D-Will mere days after the stunning resignation of Jerry Sloan? The Jazz couldn't do something that dramatic if they tried at trade deadline 2012, but you'd be advised not to sleep on them this week. Rest assured they're working on something"

Bell is shooting .407% from three. Someone can use him. CJ, on the other hand,...

Say, do you suppose Raja is pissed that CJ is playing and chucking and missing everything? Raja's shot 162 3 pointers to CJ's 343, of which I think I saw him make one. Maybe Raja is demanding CJ's minutes or giving them to Burks, doing us all a huge favor. Anyone can chuck like CJ. Hell, a NCAA punter would be more efficient than CJ from 3.

I understand that this a business and all, but in that video, it showed Raja coming at Ty, yelling like he was gonna start something, then Harris and Millsap held him back...I don't care where I'm at, if I were coach, that bitch would be long gone in the locker room after that. As a coach you have to show that YOU are in charge, ESPECIALLY in front of a young team... That vid alone exemplify's Ty's pure incompetence on being a Head Coach.

If I remember correctly Bell was not going after Ty but an official for a call and Ty was in the way. The other players grabbed Bell before Ty did. Could be wrong though.

I believe you're right but even if not as a coach you don't get into it with a player in front of the team. As a coach you have to show you're above that and can remain calm under tough situations just like you tell your players to try and be. Coaches that get drawn into that with players usually end up fired.

Oh I agree completely. I was just pointing out that the video is misleading.

That's what I was going to say. I don't even know what game that was, but it seems it was taken out of context (or added to the the story to show Bell being frustrated?). It certainly wasn't the Philadelphia game where the altercation supposedly took place. Jazz wore their road blues in that game, and in this clip they are wearing whites.
