I just read this thread and remembered why I took a break from Jazzfanz. Smh. :D

The only regret I have was pussyfooting away from having an opinion on him. I was just barely getting to know him at the time I made this thread, but I absolutely love the guy. His views are based on logic and reality. He's capable of dialogue with those who disagree and he's got thick skin - facts don't care about your feelings mentality.

Oh man. I thought you were lame for going to a Shapiro lecture, but listening to one on youtube live is even worse. In a way I kind of respect the people who are willing to go to these things w/ the level of protesting aimed at them.

I respect those passionate enough to protest, as long as their narratives aren't based on false ideologies.
I have zero respect for protestors who use violence, suppression of dissent, propaganda and sensationalism to oppress others. Especially your "run-of-the-mill conservatives/ libertarian" like Ben Shapiro.

This is what people are protesting and being offered counseling for. Can someone, who disagrees with Shapiro, tell me what he said in his speech at Berkeley or the U that's so offensive to the point of people trying to shut them down?

yet they hapr on the right for being more religious and worsehipping a mythical guy in the sky!

This is the new norm on college campuses. What used to be bastians of debate and actual learning are now shrines of conformity and "right" thinking. Where it used to be valued to be able to hear opinions counter to your own and then be able to have civil discourse about it, it is now about suppression of thoughts that do not fit the mainstream and trauma units for poor students forced to hear something different than their carefully constructed world-view. It is sad really. Remember the universities that cancelled finals and brought in emergency grief counselors when Hillary lost? Our universities in general are a joke in this regard.

The same type of liberal bullying can be found in this thread too. People call Ben Shapiro a racist, white supremacist, hate spewing idiot, yet don't listen to a damn thing he says. The guy is brilliant and if he offends you, you're probably reading headlines or live in lala land. I got ripped for making this thread because people's opinions were hurt by perception and confirmation bias. That and probably cause Ben is a Jew too.
