Best Halloween Movie

I've said it before, but LOVED Cabin in the Woods. The ending was very good, but not over the top ridiculous good. I do have to say, the most enjoyable horror film, not the scariest, has by far been Dale and Tucker vs Evil.

That movie was outstanding. Nothing like you'd expect. Everyone should watch that movie. It is on Netflix Instant Video. Absolutely incredible. Twists, turns, well acted, funny, scary, just the right amount of gore. Fantastic move.

I was going to put the trailer for Dale and Tucker vs Evil on here, but it gives the movie away. Don't watch the trailer, just go watch the movie. You will love it. If you don't, I'll give ya some weak sauce rep for a month or whatever. Anyways, go watch that movie.

The Exorcist is still the gold standard for scary films - debate-able as to how good it is for watching in a group setting though. The acting is almost too good for a horror film.

Gotta throw the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre some love - to this day the abrupt ending still creeps me out.

Monster Squad

It sounds like you have kids and this is perfect. I also recommend Monster House, which was written by Dan Harmon who is now mostly famous for Community. The cast is excellent and the whole movie is enjoyable.

If this is an adult movie (but not the fun kind) Drag me to Hell and Cabin in the Woods are the best options that have come out in the last 5ish years.

I remember watching that as a kid. We used to laugh our butts off at the part where one kid yells at the other kid (who is getting attacked by Wolfman), "Kick him in the nards!

Watched The Descent and the newer Halloween movie this weekend. Both were fantastic. The Descent really creeped me out. The tight quarters, etc, wow. Great movie.

I also thought Halloween was terrific. Was really impressed.

Will watch Trick R Treat tonight.
