What's new

Big Al Working Hard

I certainly respect what you are saying and I am ok if we agree to disagree. I actually do not want Jefferson traded right away. I am intrigued by what he could do in a line up next to Kanter or Favors. jefferson and Milsap just don't seem to be a good fit together. If I was being honest I would tell you that I feel very very strongly that Milsap come off the bench the rest of his career. It is not a knock on Milsap at all, in fact it is a compliment in my mind. As far as coming off the bench goes I beleive that there is no PF in the league better than Milsap.

Back to what I was saying earlier. I want ot see Jefferson and one of the two new guys work together on the floor. It could make for a great rotation. My BIGGEST fear is that the Jazz will try to get to the playoffs so bad that they neglect to give quality and a quantity of minutes to the young guys. I want to see Favors, Kanter and Burks at a minimum of 20 minutes a game. Hayward has proved to me that he can play for 30+ minutes and play great.

I hope that this clarifies my stance on the subject.

I'm in the same camp. Millsap is a DOMINANT player off the bench. He was very good in short stints as Boozer's injury replacement. But as a full-time starter, he's often overmatched. I'd like to see him still get 30 mins/per and I believe he could still maintain his 18/9 as a sub. Jefferson/Favors is an intriguing starting combo since Derrick is so strong defensively. I think it's going to be a couple of years at least before Kanter is ready to start.

More hardworking Jazzmen (Click on their names to see the videos)

Evans

Here is video of Jeremy Evans...Jeremy has an exceptional amount of elasticity, as seen in the first exercise... There are times when Jeremy will need to be able utilize muscular strength alone. Giving Jeremy the ability to better utilize high force producing muscles is essential, especially when he is required to produce force from a rested position. Complexing a back squat with a seated box jump is an effective way to enhance this ability...

Hayward

ordon Hayward of the Utah Jazz jumped 4 inches higher off of his right foot during approach vertical testing, and almost always dunks off of his right and finishes with his left...to give him more strength and power off of his right lower extremity P3 is coupling single leg strength movements with biomechanically similar power movements one side at a time as opposed to alternating, as a way of loading and fatiguing each leg more...

Al is awesome. I look forward to watching him prove that the haters are nothing but a bunch of dorks. Criticizing him for being traded for Kevin Garnett is beyond stupid. The Jazz pulled a major coup to get this guy. KOC has been on fire with his personnel management moves for the last year and a half,

BTW, in Al's breakout year with the Celtics, they had the second worst season in franchise history.

And even though he was traded for about as literally nothing as you can get in the NBA, the Wolves didn't get any worse. In fact, they actually got a little better.

But yeah, I hope he makes me look stupid too.

This is also from the P3 guys, commenting on Big Al:

Al Jefferson is making huge physical gains this off-season at P3...much of our work has focused on creating dynamic hip stability and shifting demand from knees to hip. This process involves both strengthening and neuromuscular re-education of how to stabilize and activate his gluteus medius and upper-third of gluteus maximus...

Sounds like they are working on avoiding knee injuries and low post

Better? What was the win/loss record of the Wolves this season again........? 2 more wins isnt necessarily an improvement in the grand scheme of a team, especially after the acquiaition of a 4th overall draft pick

They won 17 games this year. They won 15 the year before.

So, they didn't get any worse. In fact they actually got a little better.

plz see old post, I edited it.

Still applies. They didn't get any worse.

And I'm not sure if you followed Wesley Johnson last year or not, but he was not very good. If Al is this super-rare, super-coveted player of franchise-player caliber, you'd think...

Who am I kidding, I've connected the dots too many times. Goodnight everyone.

and ps if youre stupid enough to think that had the wolves hung on to jefferson, along with having love and johnson on the same team would have not had a better record than 17 wins last season, I have no idea what to tell you. So, yes, Kahn was stupid, and so are you for blaming one of the worst coached teams in the leagues consistent failure on one player.
