Bill Simmons: Prediction No. 1: Utah tries like hell to trade up for Jabari Parker.

This will go down along the same lines of when I stressed the crap out of trading for Harden then Bledsoe before they blew up, and a lot of people doubted how good they would be.

I don't ever pimp a player this hard unless I'm really sure.

The arguments in this thread against Jabari are going to look really dumb in a few years.

Thank god for Lindsey though. I have faith that he will pull this off. At first everyone will be crying about how much was traded, but that will soon turn to tears of joy.
Amen.

Let's hope we can get a deal done for Parker. I'm tired of having a roster of role players.

Hey let's continue drafting role players and be safe when we have a shot at a guy that could be a star. That's too damn conservative.

I would literally trade any player and asset we have to land Jabari.

If we have Jabari and nobody else, then at least we have a possible cornerstone for a future Championship.

In the NBA if you dont have a star you have absolutely nothing.

I agree he is a stretch four but can he guard a four. Do you think he could guard Kanter down low? Do you think he could guard fast/quick SF?

If i were coaching i would adjust my lineups when matchups dictate.

He can guard alot of 4's..... when he cant then i either move him to the 3, play more zone, bring help early, or in a worst case scenario i bring off the bench.

So the Jazz have absolutely nothing then.

How the **** can some of you not be excited about this guy?

Parker is 19 (he was 18 during most of the season). He was a freshman who's coveted for his scoring. His defense isn't stellar. There's no reason he can't improve on defense. Numerous draft profiles talk about his high basketball IQ - if he can learns the correct defensive angles to take he can become an average defender at worst.

Burks might be the one guy on the team who still COULD blossom into a super star..NONE of the others will (sorry to burst any remaining homer dreamers' bubbles) they all have too many flaws and are not consistently good at all aspects.
I would much rather keep him, i agree. That being said, Id drive him to the air port to be able to pick Jabari.

I'm in shock.... Your down with burks now???

This thread is hilarious. I think we've found out which posters are delusional (Mormonism vs talent, college vs nba)

If you can get Jabari then you do and run away with him as fast as possible.
