Bin Laden is dead

All Americans have been searching for Bin Ladin for years, because they needed to know for sure he was dead, to have no doubt.

Then when they CLAIM they got him, they dump his body over the side of a ship so it can NEVER be verified, and Americans can NEVER have closure.

Does that make any sense to any of you?

I am more willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the White house then I am one, and only one, reporters completely anonymous story.

So I still maintain that it is not in doubt on a general/societal level scale. Nto even close actually.

well thats your perogative, after all the government is super trustworthy!

the government has as much credibility to me than someone saying the sun is black

So now that Bin Laden is dead can I bring shampoo on an airplane now?

Clicked on a random page in this thread and saw this one. The answer, 4 years in the future, is no. We are still afraid of old ladies sporting head and shoulders.

You can't give people crap for finally doing what they should have been doing all along.

Also, as a world leader, we shouldn't be parading around the body of Osama Bin Laden. It's crude, tacky, and unbecoming of an established country.

Does that make any sense to you?

Then you better believe that the articles in the Onion are true as well.

Basically this isnt what you wnated it to be. It is not proof that Osama is alive, it is not a valid report casting that case into doubt.

Its a rumor mill story for publicity and you tried, and failed (IMO), to run it out as proof of something.

The guy, Hersh, isn't claiming that Bin Laden wasn't killed that day. He's claiming it went down differently than Pakistan and the U.S. said it went down.

So, Dutch, what the hell are you going on about exactly?

DutchJazzer? Waste our time and post every last fabricated story that he wants to believe?

Never.

Stop this logic nonsense... let's go down his rabbit hole!

Proof is in the pudding. No one's seen or heard from Bin Laden since his "reported death", right? So either we have him, and he's getting the special treatment in some government hole, or he was buried at sea, since no country would have him buried within 24 hours of his death.

Numerous muslim groups have condemned his killing. Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Taliban.

If he was still out there, why would they go through the trouble of condeming his death?

I do think the way the govt handled it was weird but you're right. If he was still alive we would know it.

I love the sudden and quick disappearance. It makes me smile.

Perhaps his sudden disappearance is a US conspiracy too!

Guys, I just googled it, turns out Osama is dead.

The guy, Hersh, isn't claiming that Bin Laden wasn't killed that day. He's claiming it went down differently than Pakistan and the U.S. said it went down.

But Hersh isn't just some guy. He is an old, established and reputable journalist....at least he was before he wrote this piece...now people are scrabbling to distance themselves from him.

I thought the article posed several interesting theories. But with limited sources it lacks credibility. If it were true the ramifications would be huge.

the article did reminded me that the official story was inconsistent in the details and some information created skeptism.

My conclusion...I wish we lived in a world where the press, academics and historians had the ability and will to dig, and the people had the faculties to digest complex issues.
