Simmons is exactly the type of player needed to play alongside Donovan. Big ball handler who could guard other teams #1. Like you said people would probably hate it but I think being in a place like Utah is what Simmons needs. The problem still exists though that you need other big long defenders who can shoot + you'd need to pickup a stretch 5.People will hate it, but this the kind of trade you got to make if you want to build around Mitchell. Use the Philly pick to get a solid role playing wing.

Its a huge upside move... I think you could even swipe another pick because BS has teams shook. Maybe you just add in Sharpe and Cam Thomas (no opinion on either guy) and dump Gay in the trade too. If BS rehabbed his value you could flip him later maybe... there is like a 5-10% chance dude never plays again.People will hate it, but this the kind of trade you got to make if you want to build around Mitchell. Use the Philly pick to get a solid role playing wing.

Potential options are limited, but should be explored. One of my favorite hypotheticals is sending Simmons to Utah for Rudy Gobert. Danny Ainge was a big fan of Simmons in the 2016 draft. Donovan Mitchell and Simmons could make for a potent pick-and-roll duo, and Gobert would anchor Brooklyn’s defense. Gobert has his own offensive limitations but they’d be minimized with the shot-making of KD and Irving.
Bruce Brown would be the guy I'd really want if Utah could negotiate another player in there. I'm sure you could also get Sharpe or Claxton as well since they will need one less big man.Its a huge upside move... I think you could even swipe another pick because BS has teams shook. I also think you could be the third team and send him elsewhere for picks and cap fodder. Brooklyn wants good players and not picks in return for him so may need a mediator. He likely needs a small market with little media attention but also is like a big market LA type of personality. If he actually played this type of deal is a homerun but he's in uncharted territory.
Yeah thats why I posted it, though it's something I've thought about for a minute.Kevin O'Connor suggested this today in his latest article. I would absolutely hate it. Simmons would be nothing but a headache and I don't think he would be happy in Utah at all.

Brown and Claxton would both have to be sign and trades... which isn't impossible of course... just makes it harder.Bruce Brown would be the guy I'd really want if Utah could negotiate another player in there. I don't think Utah could get another pick tho
Let him eat his cake. The issue is if you give Dallas or Memphis Rudy it really sets them up for success and if we move toward mediocrity it looks really ******... Donovan gonna love that?
I disagree with this 100%. We have only seen a handful of games with Donovan and without Rudy. Note: we have only seen Donovan without Rudy in a system built around what Rudy does. When Rudy has been out, we just replace Rudy with a largely inferior replacement like Whiteside.I think we have seen how our team will perform with Donovan and no Rudy... we will be similar to the Beal Wizards... I think Donovan will really start to lose value if we end up sucking. I'd just move em both now and take a premium on Donovan.
