Bolerjack Trolling Jazzfanz?

Giving Boler too much credit. He's just that clueless or stubborn. When calling a game you don't use wrong terminology just to troll a minute group of people watching. Too many others besides the group you're supposedly trolling, watching the game. Jazzfanz would make up what, about .001% of total viewers, for a given Jazz game?

So at just after the 8min mark in the 2nd qtr Ron Boone explains, in detail, what a "skip pass" is. About a minute and a half after that Bolerjack calls a bounce pass into the paint a skip pass. A few plays later and Boone is pointing out an actual skip pass and talking about how effective it is. A few min later and Boone is again explaining what a skip pass is. But at least one or two more times Bolerjack referred to a bounce pass as a skip pass.

I can only imagine this all transpired because of a thread I wasn't able to find before posting this that NOAS started imploring the powers that be to educate Bolerjack on the difference between a bounce pass and a skip pass. It seems Ron Boone attempted to serve. It also seems Bolerjack said "**** you" and called several bounce passes skip passes to show us all who's boss.

Here's the thread, it was started by NAOS: https://jazzfanz.com/showthread.php?56121-I-need-help-from-everybody-educating-Bollerjack

And for your additional enjoyment, here's another post I ran across while looking for that thread. It's from 2011, LogGrad98 calling for the same thing. :-)

I was going to start this exact same thread but with a little of my braggadocio "they're copying me" fake outrage. It was pretty obvious that Boone was catering to us during that game, but I want to take it back to Orlando and more.

It was pretty obvious when Andy Larson took my Exum thread and wrote an article about why he should be third string. Excellent work and much better than the effort I put in.

Re-listen to the Orlando game. Matt Harpring made a point of explaining offense in response to my QS offense thread, especially the response to where I said I didn't know what a play was called. He told us a different SM play I didn't know the name for and called the Boris post up is called Slice. Big shout out and thanks to Harpring for that. Please tell us the name of the double high screen , HORNS style play on a broadcast.

The national media follows us as well. Zach Lowe writes articles catering to us and many have copied my works in the past.

They may not respond directly to forum threads, but if you think they don't read the most prominent Jazz sports forum on the web and react to what the pulse of posters here have to say then you don't understand business. We (I) influence the Jazz decision making process. That's at you Ostertag>Duncan.

On the Sacramento broadcast, their announcer correctly called a "skip pass" from Hayward during the game, I had to chuckle when I heard that. At least other people know what a skip pass is. I have to say, I really enjoy listening to the Kings' broadcasters...they're entertaining, smart and aren't over the top homerish like 99% of the others in the business.

Good points...I swear that someone on Jazzfanz came up with Gobert's nickname "Stifle Tower", then one of the newspaper hacks took credit for it. Is this true?

Well Stifle Tower isn't exactly the most creative name out there so I can fully imagine more than one person coming up with it at the same time. They made Deep Impact and Armageddon the same year after all.

A Bug's Life and Antz were also made at the same time, iirc.
