The talk has been that if New Jersey could get CP3 for the 3rd pick that it would GREATLY increase their chances of landing Lebron in free agency. After taking on Chris Paul's and Lebron's salaries they likely wouldn't be able to afford Boozer.

I was thinking in terms of the draft. Yes, it probably would eliminate NJ as a suitor for Boozer. That would be a crazy team if they could have LBJ, CP3 and Lopez.

But then NY comes into play for Carlos, since most of the talk has been of Lebron going to the Knicks. If I were James, I'd really consider the Nets over the Knicks. A billionaire owner, a better base of players (despite last season's record) and moving to NY in a couple of seasons anyway.

The only way the Jazz can S&T Boozer with so many teams having cap room to sign him is if he's willing to take the sixth year for less money per year but more money overall. Something like 6/80 instead of 5/75.

Won't net tremendous players, but it could happen.

Carlos is looking for 6 years, there is no doubt about it. The team that offers him it gets him, like you said 6/80 would probably do the trick for him- he knows this is his last contract. Look at Elton Brand just 31 and would probably not get the MLE if he was a FA today. The Jazz won't be too greedy, but will get something decent back.
