I wouldn't call this news "breaking." We've heard trade rumors for the past several weeks, involving Teague, Hill, etc. Most of those have mentioned Burke + picks,

We've heard rumors that are based of speculation. This is a rumor based off information.

NY has been reported as shopping Calderon and willing to include O'Quinn. Not sure why O'Quinn is viewed as being all that valuable. NY gets more in that transaction unless DL likes the Euro.

I could see some interest in Collison. He's a better shooter. Not sure what Sacramento would ask for.

More likely, IMO, is a deal with a team wanting to cut their tax bill.

"From league sources" according to the SL Tribune.
I've read the trade rumors in Hoops Hype prior to Jones revealing it in the Trib. I assume those are based on league sources, too. Jones is just late to the party.

Yes, they're linking to TJones' article, today. But the Teague rumors started a couple of weeks ago. And Burke was on the market last trade deadline, during the summer. Really no big surprise he's being shopped again. Hood's interview also mentioned his and Gordon's role if the Jazz added a PG. I think that's pretty clear the Jazz are in the market for a PG. And if they acquire one, who goes, Neto? Not likely.

Like Cy said, those rumours before today were based on speculation, i.e., the media speculating about who the Jazz would make available in a trade for Teague....


Tony Jones on the other hand is very close to the Jazz. So when he says he has something, he most probably has something.

TJ's report is definitely not linked to the Teague rumor (actually hopeful speculation by Jazz fans that Burke + pick(s) might get Teague -- no legit rumor on that one). See his timeline. He virtually guarantees Teague is not coming to Utah.

And Green can be #2 (#3 when Dante comes back). So yeah, if you can get a first round draft pick for Trey Burke then do it. We know Burke's ceiling, but that draft pick could be another diamond like Rudy or Rodney. Or that pick could be a dud, but that's gambling and if all it costs is Trey Burke then of course you make that bet.
