I don’t see how you see this and can’t at least consider trading Lauri for picks now. We’re not going to be able to “big game hunt” with the picks we have right now. So unless our pick this year turns into a Donovan Mitchell like star immediately, Lauri is going to spend his prime with us being the lone star. And all that means is being a lotto team that isn’t drafting high enough to actually improve.
I’d seriously consider trading Lauri and going for broke with picks. Hoping to draft our way back into contention by 2028. We aren’t going anywhere anyway. Might as well go young and play the long game.

Jebus... @Elizah Huge and I just recorded a pod with Tony and the trade happened like 2 minutes before we talked lol. He's happy but was surprised by the price.
I have to imagine they think they can keep him. Otherwise this trade is just plain stupid(replacing OG for Bridges for that stupid haul). Not that it isn't stupid now, but... even more stupid than it already is. They balked at 3 unprotected for Mitchell last year and now are giving up like... 4 unprotected + swaps + second + protected 1st for a great player whose best role is probably as an off-ball 3 and D wing. He's amazing in that role, but still....

I think I know what they are doing. But they are relying on the Suns wanting to do a rebuild. They want to get Durant and they are stocking on Suns picks to entice them to go into rebuild themselves(return their picks so they can go into a tank). This might mean Booker might be ont he market too? Should we be interested in that one?
Yeah, I think this is with the express desire to get KD(or Booker?). This makes it easier to convince the Suns to trade KD(and maybe Booker in separate deal?) and start their own rebuild by getting their own picks back. But I still feel like this is stupid by the Rockets. If that is happening... Booker will be on the market too I imagine... ?!
I'm still not a fan of it but we now know that they are also getting the better of the 2029 mavs and suns picks as well as a 2029 swap option for the mavs and suns picks. That means they get the better for those 2 picks and if the worse of those picks better than their own pick then they can swap for that pick as well.
BTW... the rumor was that Utah wanted Bridges. So... it seems like we were probably the team that the Knicks had to outbid. Ainge loves to screw up the Knicks it seems.
Yeah, but with that trade are there any more valuable picks than the Brooklyn 2025 and Brooklyn 2026 picks? They are IMO prohibitive favorite to be bottom 5 team in the league in 2025, which is considered amazing draft.
