Brilliantly crafted move by Jazz FO keeping Corbin around

The decision to rebuild was made the day we traded Deron, obviously. The Jazz front office recognized what that process would have to be like for our franchise that won't be luring cream of the crop free agents every offseason. Great move keeping Corbin around to keep us in the lotto. This year, with all our veteran talent now moved on, Corbin has shown new depths of suck with a less-than-desirable roster.

Perhaps when Wiggins reclassified to Jabari's, Randle's, etc. graduating class before last year, thats when the Jazz chose to keep Corbin around - to ensure a chance at getting one of them.

I find it funny Stern fined the Spurs for resting their good players once, while there will be no penalty to the Jazz for blatantly forfeiting a season. Besides the dope on our sidelines, you needn't look past our second unit to understand what's been set up by our front office.

In other news, I really want to keep seeing Tinsley take his set shot threes this year. I'm hoping he finishes in the single digits in terms of percent converted just because that stat would add to the dumpster-fire factor.

Greg Miller and Co. have a lot of brass by screwing over their season tix holders for a season, and humiliating an entire fan base for a season as well. Hopefully it's not all for nothing. I'm fine with keeping that pants-****ting dummy on the sidelines until we've clinched a bottom 3 record in the league. The key will be having a new coach in place before the draft to offer his evaluation and input so as whoever we draft fits with what they want to accomplish on the court.

Anyone who wants Corbin fired should just relax and let him continue stealing money this season. It's not our money. It's that little brat, bitch-boy who couldn't care less about the team Greg Miller's. What a loser he is.

Everyone will be singing Miller's praises when we get Parker/Wiggins/Randle and have deep playoff runs again.

I am a little worried that Ty is carrying it too far. At this point it looks like he is so into tanking that he is teaching how to play bad defense and throw the ball away every other possession. His coaching couldn't be this bad could it?

This is what worries me, and somewhat expressed these thoughts in the game thread. Coach TyCo is some kind of suck.

Quality response. You think the Jazz FO believes Corbin can lead us to a title?

We have yet to see what anyone on this team can lead anyone to. Until we get everyone healthy, and get through the tanks season, my expectations are 0-82, whether we had Corbin, Corbin Bernsen, or Popovich, or Mr. Ed as our coach.

I'd love it of we could resurrect the old "we haven't seen this team healthy yet" mantra from the FO.

Sorry, Popovich would probably have gotten a couple of W's out of this team. Pops >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tyrone.

All of the Core 4 are looking fairly good. They're all being pushed to do more than they're comfortable with, which is good for them. It's just Favors who isn't getting the spacing and set ups he needs. I've said it before, this is resistance training for the young guys. And there's been no word of discontent or disagreement from the Jazz's front office.

Keep an eye on Gobert too. He has the tools to be a significant piece of the puzzle.

I think you make a lot of assumptions here.

I said before the season started how amused I would be at these kinds of "the sky is falling" types of posts once the real loosing started. Everyone wanted to watch the team lose and look good doing it. It just doesn't work that way. Losing is ugly. Very difficult to look good/competent while the other team is outplaying you. It doesn't mean the pieces aren't there. It's also unrealistic to assume highly competitive pro athletes aren't going to struggle to deal with getting humiliated on the court, thus making them look even worse than they are.

I don't think Corbin is a great coach. I also don't think he's the primary reason we're losing.

I've been very satisified with the progress of each of the 5 young guys, especially Gobert. Don't understand what all the fuss is about.

I like that Corbin has played Gobert in every game so far.
Corbin has been smart enough to figure that out.

I have some complaints.

1. Burks has a lot of talent, but he plays dumb. He should at least have the intention of scoring when he drives, instead of throwing himself into the defense hoping to get fouled.
2. Favors has improved on the offensive end, but he still takes games off. He was given a good contract by the team, and he's expected to play with more intensity.
3. Kanter relies too much on his jumper and offensive put backs. He is too good a post scorer to be this timid. He also needs to go for defensive rebounds more aggressively.

But overall, I am most worried about the fact the team hasn't competed the last few games. I know they can do MUCH better, and I hope they can find the confidence to start playing hard. But yeah, I think we should be fine.

I agree.
Hate it when players do this...... AK was the king of it

Meantime, you have a squad of guys who have developed terrible habits, learned no system, and made little progress while getting their confidence slammed and their desire to play in Utah obliterated.
