Bronco Leaving BYU for...

Like I said, if Hill never got injured and was able to work and improve for an entire season/off-season every year, there is a shot he would have improved enough to get drafted.

If you take the numbers throughout his career and just extrapolate them for an entire 4 years, I dont think he is good enough.

Chances are he would have improved though if he could have always been healthy. Dak Prescott made huge strides every year, and wasn't really taken seriously as a NFL prospect when he first became a starter, now he is a projected 3rd-5th rounder. It would have been hard to do that if he had gotten injured every year, so Fish does have a point and it isn't fair to jump on him when he says that Hill would have been drafted if he had stayed healthy.

Haven't read this whole thread but from what I've read are we really trying to compare taysom and travis talent wise? It's not close, Taysoms injury concerns are what they are but when healthy taysom is a legit top 3 qb in the country imo....

I've been ready for a change. Bronco was the right hire at the time, and he's done a fantastic job. But, I'm sick of being stuck in mediocrity. Besides, these players already have a Bishop and Elders Quorum President, they don't need their football coach doing it as well.

Does BYU have a deep enough recruiting pool to be more than mediocre year in and year out? (Mediocre meaning 7-10 wins per year) I don't think so. Bronco did as well as probably possible given that BYU's recruiting pool is just too shallow--there are only so many premier LDS football players and other premier players (esp. African American) willing to play at a 99% white; alcohol, coffee and sex abstaining, and highly religious Mormon college. BYU will never compete for a national champsionship or for a playoff position. Nobody is going to do better than Bronco did. BYU fans need to adjust their expectations.

Sadly, probably true

There is a lot of truth to that statement. I think deep down inside I know what you're saying is true, but I don't want to (can't) accept that.
