Burke Invited To The US Select Team

You want a whole thread were everyone is saying "congrats Burke" over and over again? This isn't facebook where it is someones birthday. I am concerned when Burke keeps getting accolades when I don't feel he deserves it and believe it will reinforce his belief that he is a good player when he needs to improve on everything and had a very disappointing rookie season and completely underachieved.

It's a chance for him to train with the better players in the league. After going through a season and 2 summers league he has understands how difficult it is to be a pro. If can adopt any kind of small tips on how to improve anything from his shooting to his work out regiment this is good for him as a pro. Yet some of you are here posting things that aren't even related to the topic.

This isn't an accolade as nearly much as it's a chance to get better as a player. So there's really no need to congratulate him if you don't want to however there's no need to spread non-sourced comments and an attack Burke based on his opinion either. When you post things like this " It seems he feels he is too good for the Jazz or something." when all the articles I read about Burke has him saying nothing but positive things about the Jazz organization. That to me says your criticism is illogical in natural.

So saying you don't think he deserves being on the US select team is not related to a thread about Trey Burke being selected of the US select team? Not sure I agree with you there.

When Trey Burke got drafted he said "Utah Jazz is a good place to start my NBA career." Follow Burke on twitter, on the side he writes University of Michigan. No mention of Utah Jazz on the description. Burke received much more minutes than Burks, Favors, Gobert, Kanter did their rookie years and he is the worst one of the bunch. Do you really think that Burke gives the humble appreciative vibe during his interviews and on twitter that Damian Lillard or Derrick Rose give?

1st just saying "he sucks" isn't really making a valid argument that Burke doesn't belong on the select team(which is nothing more than a glorified scout team anyways). Which would have been ok if that was the only point you made. You brought up unfounded and non-sourced comments about how he feels about the Jazz organization and his teammates. Also making claims that being selected to train with the best players was somehow a negative based on the fact that it will go to his head is also the illogical points that makes it seem like you are just hating irrationally against Burke. This is saying since Chris Paul won ROTY he had no intentions on getting better or because Anthony Davis made the Olympic team right out of college it meant he would get such a big head he could never work on his weaknesses. This is such a illogical way to look at this opportunity for Burke it shows that you can't be rational as it pertains to Trey Burke.

So instead of saying "his shooting percent is really low" I said "his shooting sucks" this makes it not a valid argument against his game? You really want me to go back on all his video interviews and source my comments? Do you not watch these videos. You didn't bring any sources when he said he is constantly talking about his appreciation for being on the Jazz, I didn't demand you to source that, you are being very hypocritical. I never said that Trey Burke doesn't have intentions of getting better. Complete straw hat. Here I will educate you, this is what you did. https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/strawman.

Again you are making the claims not me. Trey Burke has been select fact. As someone who doesn't think he's fitting the onus is on you to prove otherwise. Saying someone "sucks" is not a valid "grown up" argument.

I didn't claim any sources because what I read can be googled. I tried to fine a source for your claims and couldn't find any.

Also this is your comment " I am concerned when Burke keeps getting accolades when I don't feel he deserves it and believe it will reinforce his belief that he is a good player when he needs to improve on everything and had a very disappointing rookie season and completely underachieved." So you aren't saying it your just suggesting it for no reason. You take the worst case-lowest percentage outcome and interject it into the thread for what reason if not to hate irrationally against Trey Burke?

Trey Burke comment about legit center was discussed here.

If you have a problem with me saying Trey Burke's shooting sucks that is your problem.

I no longer have the time or the crayons to talk with you unfortunately.

I heard that Burke said that Jazz need to draft a legit Center. Complete disrespect to Kanter, Favors, and Gobert. Also Burke mentioned Stauskis was the best shooter he has ever played with (granted his statement was probably true but he never mentions anyone on the Jazz as good). It seems he feels he is too good for the Jazz or something. I really have a feeling Burke thinks he is better than he thinks he is moreso than most players. The only thing promising about Burke is that he has a very very nice Assist/TO ratio (Top 10 in the entire NBA). Everything else sucks, his athleticism sucks, his height sucks, his defense sucks, his shooting sucks. His rookie year stats and height are very similar to Johnny Flynn. Johnny didn't last 5 years in the NBA.

Wait.. did you bump into that same guy at Best Buy also?

You realize this link is to a thread with no links to the actual comment in question right?

Also I have no problem with you saying his shooting sucks. It's just that saying someone or something sucks is far too subjective to result in a reasonable discussion. Saying his height sucks doesn't mean much and is completely your opinion.

Why do people dissect everything about Burke.

He's cocky? Really, anymore than any other player in the NBA. These guys are the best in the world at what they do... if any of us were even the best in our city we'd get a big head. These guys have to have irrational confidence to think they are the best in the world and perform at these levels. Especially when they are as small as Burke.

Burke is one of the guys who shows some leadership potential and this experience will help him... Happy for the guy.

Well I guess that is one way to interpret his comments. How about this way? Favors and Kanter both think they are PFs and have stated such. So maybe Trey thinks that too. Gobert was no where near being ready last year and so his comment about needing a legitimate center isn't too off base. I guess he could have said something like hopefully Gobert is our center. However after last year no one thought Gobert was a starting center except Gobert homers. Gobert looked great in SL but he has yet to prove he is a starting center.

Nevertheless, since he was asked this during the draft, saying the Jazz need a starting center isn't so far fetched especially with the prospect of drafting Embiid was still possible. Why would Burke mention anyone on the Jazz last year as being a better shooter than Stauskis? There was no one on the Jazz even close to Staukis so his statement is true. What is wrong with that? He was actually saying a great thing about his former teammate. It sounds as though you want Trey to but his Jazz homer cap on and bow down to the Jazz Bear idol.

Remember these comments were at the draft and none of them show any lack of loyalty or truth to them. Now you might argue that center isn't the most important position of need but SF is a greater need. You nor Trey would be wrong stating that and I am sure it would open a discussion about which position is a greater need.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with what he said and I doubt any of his teammates took offense to it. Comments coming out of SL from the young guys were that Trey was being a leader and showing the guys the ropes and encouraging them.
