Burks at #12

I'm with you, it seemed on alot of threads everyone would be excited if Burks fell to us, know everyone is back peddling. This is a fantastic pick for #12 cause he is one of the top high risk high reward guys is this draft!

Haven't you realized that many Jazz fans just like to complain and second guess anything KOC or the organization does. I just can't see how anyone can be that upset. I guess you could prefer Leonard but it is obvious that KOC went with what they thought was the BPA. I am extremely happy with the way things went down.

I really thought everyone here was going to love this pick. I thought he was clearly the BPA, is athletic, and has a ton of potential. We could either start him with Hayward, or bring him off the bench as a guy who can really help our 2nd unit score.

I like Burks. He probably was BPA. The question you have to ask is what the degree of separation in BPA is between him and 30. For my money, we should have worked a trade to get Mirotic. But if KOC thinks his ceiling is really high, I'm on board.

Go look at DWades 2 years stats at Marquette........look familiar? "Couldn't shoot the 3" was said then too.

Not saying he's gonna be Wade but they are similar and have very similar college stats. Same thing has now been said a lot about Hayward and his 3pt percentage his last year. Dude has no mechanics issues, shoots very well from the rest of the floor, gets to the line and when he does he makes them. Stop being "that guy".

Just looked up Alex Burks on scoutingthenba.com on goggle (computer program based to rate players in this draft) to see how good of a player they see him being. I would take this result anytime for a 12th pick in any draft:

Starter on 50 win team

I hope he's on his way to Hornacek's house right now. Kid needs to be his bitch.

I'm intrigued by this pick. It could be a total steal at #12. We'll see.... I can't wait for this board to over-react when he has a slow start. He's got all the intangibles to be one of the most hated players on this board. lol

I think Burks is an exceptional player. Despite what everyone says, he's a good shooter. He is a poor 3-point shooter, but he has a pretty good mid-range shot. He also has a smooth stroke and a good looking shot. He's athletic, he's long, he can create his own shot, and he has a great scorer's tough. I know nothing about Kanter, but I'm VERY happy with both picks.

Im sooo happy with the burks pick. He was the guy i was hoping for at 12 more than any other player. He reminds me a ton of dwayne wade. His shot looks perfect and i think will improve. He will get to the free throw line alot. I dont think the jazz have ever had a 2 guard than can take his man off the dribble and create his own shot. Horny, russel, giri, bell etc etc. To me he is nothing like brewer. Good draft Jazz, this team should be able to score alot i just hope they will be able to play D.

Burks had a 29.2 PER this season, that is ridiculously efficient for a sophomore. Derrick Williams is the only sophomore who beat him there at 32.5

Adios CJ! Bienvenidos Burks!
Ummm, not exactly. Who plays SF for the Jazz next season. I'll give you two chances and the first is NOT AK. Greg has gone out of his way to *&^%$ slap AK at every turn, saying we need guys who are durable, questioning Andrei when he misses for seemingly minor injuries. Unless there's a trade, Jazz will pick up Miles' option and he'll be the starting SF next season.
