Burks / Kanter extensions ???

Hell no to extending Kanter. We don't know that he can play a role on the team that helps us win. If he wants to take 8 million a year, I would consider it, but even then I would have to think it over if I was DL.

I know Burks can help us win in a 6th man capacity. He can play a role for sure. I would try to extend him.

Dude if Kanter would take 8 you jump all over it. That's good value especially considering where things are headed with the new TV deal. If you don't want him then you've got a great trade asset with that contract.

Burks isn't 6th man on this team. If Exum blows up then we have that conversation. For now he's definitely a starter.

I'm taking any outlandish number Burks' and Kanter's agent throws out. The new TV deal has a **** ton of arbitrage opp and the Jazz shouldn't pass up on it. I don't care if it ends up a mill too much ... it will be money well spent down the line.

Kanter will get paid good... Utah will have a good record this year, if Kanter is dropping good numbers as a PF/C with 22 years of age on very young and successful team, he will get paid good money.

Kanter is 6'11. That length costs. But right now all he can get is youth/length value of $32M/4yrs. So he'll play it out and try to add some value to that baseline by his play. He's prolly worth a little less right now even because he ****ing can't stay healthy. That's not considering the skyrocketing salary cap, but based on the current economy.

Jazz and Kanter will wait to get a deal done. If Lindsey overpays and Kanter underperforms, it hurts the financial position of Utah. If Kanter busts out, the Jazz will gladly pay him. IINM, Vucevic's actual deal is $48M with the rest in incentives.

Exactly the number on my mind. I have a feeling he will opt out though and try to highball himself. If he doesn't opt out and take 8 million a year, I will feel respect for him.

The Jazz will feel gratitude, because they ripped him off potentially ;)
