Burks or Hood?

The positive of Burks starting is that he does push the pace. He is a better transition player than Hood.

Negatives are Burks cant attack as much or handle the ball as much and Hood is forced into doing too much with an offensively challenged bench.

Still think Hood would play better with the starters and Burks better with the bench.

I think Hood is better suited to come off the bench because I think he actually is able to create shots better one on one and in the pick and roll. I think we need that coming off the bench. He can get his shots when he needs too.

If we had to choose and we are assuming both would be healthy then I'd likely choose Hood... I love me some Burks doe, so let's just keep em both and not worry about it.

One advantage Hood has on Burks in terms of scoring and shot creation is that he can pull up, both from distance and mid range, much more effectively than Burks. Burks has the advantage getting to the rim, but just as a pure shot creator, Hood may have a slight edge. If the goal is to have a scoring wing off bench, I lean Hood.

If Neto ends up starting, I would have Hood start with him. We would need his shooting to make up for Neto. I think Burks would do better being the focus of offense off the bench than Hood.

I'll be happy with which ever Snyder decides though, I trust his instincts.

Do we care who's better? They're both great and they're both playing on the Jazz. Who cares who's better? I care that they both see playing time and that they both make the most out of the minutes they see on the floor. Why debate. We're building much needed depth to the roster.

Rodney Hood is a complete player with no major flaws. Burks is a very rare talent. We'll benefit from their competition.

We have to build expectations so we are super let down by Quins decisions and can yet create more threads for entertainment! Duh!

I've already stated my preference for Burks in the starting lineup and last night further convinced me. Our offense is so much more dynamic with his slashing ability out there.

--That said, if it were up to me, I'd start Hood-Burks-Hayward.
