Rodney Hood is a complete player with no major flaws. Burks is a very rare talent. We'll benefit from their competition.
Do we care who's better? They're both great and they're both playing on the Jazz. Who cares who's better? I care that they both see playing time and that they both make the most out of the minutes they see on the floor. Why debate. We're building much needed depth to the roster.
I've already stated my preference for Burks in the starting lineup and last night further convinced me. Our offense is so much more dynamic with his slashing ability out there.
This............... is what i have been saying for years. Burks provides something that is lacking in the starting lineup without him. Dynamic slashing. Plus he will get the other teams starters in foul trouble, which is nice.
If were Quin, I'd be very tempted to do exactly that - screw the PG position and just start the five best guys. That is clearly Burks, Hood, Gordon, Favors and Rudy.I've already stated my preference for Burks in the starting lineup and last night further convinced me. --That said, if it were up to me, I'd start Hood-Burks-Hayward.

Even though Hood has some playmaking skills some of his shots are pretty questionable in the lane. He can make them but I'm not sure its winning basketball to force a 10" shot over an outreached hand every time. I think he should pass off the Hayward or Burks if the 3 isn't there, and retreat back behind the 3 point line. If neither Hayward or Burks is in, sure, do your best to create something.
AgreedThat is essentially what playing in the post is. Do we want our wings to have working post-up games or not? We should be pretty excited that Hood is developing one in his 2nd year.
The funny thing is this...Statistically, Hayward will be the Jazz leading scorer, but I honestly think that both Hood and Burks are better scorers, if that makes any sense. Hood and Burks both can be unstoppable offensively.

I think it makes perfect sense, but disagree with Hood being unstoppable offensively but do agree with Burks because he has more of an all around game and can get to hoop a lot more often than Hood but Hood has the explosive take a game over capability with his shooting, but I think he'll be inconsistent which will be frustrating.
