As much as I love Burks, the poll results speak for themselves. Hood is surprising everyone with his maturity and ability to score in bunches.

Both players have innate abilities that are exact opposites. Hood has almost perfect balance and the ability to get off quality shots from anywhere within 25 feet of the basket. Burks can get to the rim at will, contort his body and finish or get fouled.

The one critical difference is Burks depends on the ref's whistle a lot - and as we've all seen some nights the calls are just not coming. So if I had to choose I'd choose Hood by a small margin.

Where they're exactly alike is on defense - they're both equally average at best.

They're both good players, but I think it's Hood because of his overall versatility.

Who does Hood compare best to? I just love the control he seems to play with. I have a lot of confidence in him and see him blossoming as a player.

When Hood goes into the lane I have confidence that he is going to make the right read and react the right way. I think he has deceptive quickness and watching him when he goes into the lane is so much fun.

I feel like Burke clogs up the offense a bit more. Count me with the Hooderites.

I saw somebody mention Danny Granger when talking about Hood. Granger is bigger but not a bad comp.

This is a much closer decision than most are making it out to be. Hood has been playing out of his mind at times but so has Burks. Burks' mid-range improvement has been pretty solid. He's kept the Jazz in games when [Quin's garbage] offense stagnates.

Well he is 23. Burks is only a year older. It's great seeing Hood playing this great, if he wasn't it would be concerning due to his age.

Burks is my 2nd favorite player on the Jazz. And I'd still keep Hood over him, though they bring a different skill set to the table. I think Hood can be a 20 PPG scorer in this league and wouldn't be shocked to see him lead the Jazz in scoring in the next 2-3 years.

I don't want to see either go for a long time though.
