Since those 17 minutes per game he got over there mean everything. I mean all 17 minutes he was in he was playing against NBA talent like Favors was last year.

And for you to call me ignorant is like calling the kettle black. The fact GVC that you back it up with nothing but names means nothing. Even the youtube video of him backing down Gasol means nothing.. it was 2 points.

My point is that everyone is automatically praising Kanter without seeing him and stating he has a much better post game than Favors.

Also to his credit he went 5/5 against Germany but since you mention Dirk, he didn't guard Kanter on any of those EXCELLENT post moves.

He competed against some of the top players in the world this summer, and, again, had absolutely no trouble backing down Chris Kaman and others. He was 4th in the tournament in 2-pt fg% (among qualified players). His footwork is good, but he's not explosive, so he's going to have to continue to get stronger to muscle his way into good shots. He's going to draw plenty of fouls down low.

Good post, GVC. I may take it one stpe further and say that if Kanter would have been earlier in the tourney and more often, he would have shown more poise and shown better footwork and IQ. I always got the sense that he was in such a hurry to do something because he may never get the ball again.

Luckily for him, the Jazz, and us fans, we don't need him to be a monster this year anyway.

The biggest obstacle is where he was drafted and the fact that he is playing in Utah. Burks needs to get off to a great start or he will be buried down on the ROY lists. Guys like Irving will be at the top simply because he was picked number 1. I think Burks has the ability to be ROY but he will have to be a lot better than other rookies in order to be picked ROY.

My point is simple, no one knows as we haven't seen enough of him to automatically give him that praise. Whoa there .. I don't believe a single person said Kanter is 'a better low post player' than Favors. I read (and said) some stating that Kanter may have a better arsenal of low post moves. That does not take into account athleticism, defensive prowess, or anything OTHER than low post moves.

What you replied to was my comment that said his low post work vs Favors and how everyone says its superior? I think we are not on the same page regarding our disagreement.

To me, many are basing Kanters above average post work vs. no competition vs. Favors against NBA players.

I don't think anyone has seen enough of Kanter to say he has above average skills on the offensive side of the ball (Outside of maybe his outside shooting).

And again, in the games vs those players he didn't prove much to me on his low post moves outside of the one dunk vs. Gasol. In the Germany game, if I recall, all 5 baskets came against no names.

I don't really care who has more post moves at this point, one thing I've noticed from highlights of both fellows... They are both stellar rebounders, it will at least be refreshing to see guys fighting for rebs. and if I were a betting man, from footage of favors I've been peepin, I'd bet he is going to be a monster, this year. And I am a betting man.
