What's new

Burks will be Rookie of the year.

Who told that?
I never told Favors is going to be bust, i am pretty high on him unlike many basketball fans (except jazz fans) and i believe he will be very good player. But i don't see offensive potential in him as much as Kanter, that's all i say.
However, he has an amazing physical potential, it would really be a pity if he doesn't improve his offensive game and turn into Allstar player in upcoming years
Ahh, well this I sort of agree with. To my knowledge, Kanter has more offensive moves in his arsenal than Favors. However, with this said, we don't know what Favors has practised over the summer, and he has said that he can see himself being a 20/10 player this season. This season shall be an exciting one, to say the least.

How can you say that? Because you have watched a few highlight videos of Kanter on Youtube? If so, then youtube Favors and watch his highlights from Highschool against Highschool talent... he looks like the next coming of Shaq/Howard 2.0

Kanter does have more offensive moves than Favors.

His post offense and footwork is all ready quite polished. I say this based on observations of him playing in Europe this summer.

Favors is quite raw in that area still. The difference is actually quite stark.

There is a reason I preceded the post with "to my knowledge". From what we have all heard, Kanter has a sizeable offensive repertoire, with everything from shot-fakes, upend-unders, and a good mid-range jumper to boot. I am also taking into account what I saw from him during Eurobasket; though he only made on mid-range jumper (from what I remember) he had good form on all of his attempts, and he easily outmatched most of his competition when he backed them down in the post. He has a good basement to improve upon. Favors is not far behind, but if he picks up exactly where he left off last season, then he should still be considered more or less "raw".

To me, many are basing Kanters above average post work vs. no competition vs. Favors against NBA players.

I don't think anyone has seen enough of Kanter to say he has above average skills on the offensive side of the ball (Outside of maybe his outside shooting).

These are all just opinions, right? Mine is that Favors is massively more athletic/explosive than Kanter. Kanter has much more aggressiveness and, at this point, more post moves. What Kanter has on Favors, imo, is more from an aggressiveness standpoint than talent. Even when Favors was in high school, I thought the only thing that could hold him back is his being overly passive. If he truly breaks out of that, with consistency, the sky's the limit for him.

No competition? You realize he went up against Marc Gasol, Dirk, Chris Kaman, Joakim Noah, and a bunch of other seasoned European vets this past summer, right?

Consider the possibility that not everyone is as ignorant as you are.

When did he say that?

I actually believe sepanol is a legitimate Jazz fan. I really do. AKMVP, no way.
.

You do not know me. I've been Jazz fan way longer then half of you here. Way before O'Connor became GM and way before sepanol started following Jazz and Okur.

Since those 17 minutes per game he got over there mean everything. I mean all 17 minutes he was in he was playing against NBA talent like Favors was last year.

And for you to call me ignorant is like calling the kettle black. The fact GVC that you back it up with nothing but names means nothing. Even the youtube video of him backing down Gasol means nothing.. it was 2 points.

My point is that everyone is automatically praising Kanter without seeing him and stating he has a much better post game than Favors.

I mean since you watched all of his Euro games are you referencing this game?
14 minutes, went 1/4 from the field with 1 rebound vs Spain (GASOL)

or this game?
14 Points - 7 Rebounds - 7/9 vs. Portcugal (Don't know any of those players)
or this game?
19 Points - 5 Rebounds - 3 Assists vs. Poland (Don't know any of those players)

Also to his credit he went 5/5 against Germany but since you mention Dirk, he didn't guard Kanter on any of those EXCELLENT post moves.

If he has good footwork in Europe, he'll have good footwork here. It will be harder to use successfully due to difference in the strenght of the defenders, etc., but the basic skill will still be present. If you have good shot mechanics in the D-League, you have good shot mechanics in the NBA, but still might not be able to score as well.

Morris Almond had a great stroke in College and the D League didn't he?

That's pretty good for being 19 years old and having not played full speed basketball in 2 years, pal. He had like the 15th best PER in the entire tournament, and Turkey's group was the toughest.

Never once said it wasn't good - just saying does he have better low post moves/footwork than Favors when we have so little to judge him on? Oh, and I'm not your pal, pal.
