Whether or not Payne had hit that field goal at the end, it would have been a good game. Good in the sense of excitement and tension. I didn't know how long I could stand there in sub 30 degree weather watching two teams, neither of which seemed to want to win. But it was dramatic, anyway.
Considering the debacle at Notre Dame, I think it was okay (good) for Whit to give Cain a shot. You can only watch Wynn melt for so long before you want something to be hopeful for. Besides, Wynn needed a wake up call more than he needed his confidence coddled. I think Cain being out there was good for Wynn.
Oh, and I've been in denial all year long, but after this game I have finally come to admit that indeed, Heaps > Wynn.
I agree with the 1st part 100%.
The second I guess I can see. I hope it works that way. Utah only has Wynn next year with any real experience. They will not have Cain there if he loses all confidence due to being benched. Maybe they have a guy in the wings ready to take over if Wynn can't come around. I hope it woke him up. I am as sick as anybody of watching him be afraid to throw the ball because it might be a TO. I think he lost confidence before the TCU game because of how last years game went, hopefully that will change.
