Calling people racists?

Also, does being white and calling other white people racists get you a "I'm not a racist" pass or something?

It raises your points if you correctly spot a racist. If you other use it though, you lose points. The harder the find, the more points you get.

I actually hate black chicks. They are the ugliest women on the planet, hands down. I like latina's though. And mmm, mmm, mmm -- I love me some Asian.

I suppose my first sentence could make me a racist, technically. But I'm not. This is actually a weird point. Or something.

I don't think saying something like that makes you a racist. I don't find very many of them attractive, either. There are some damn fine Latinas out there though. Some damn ugly ones, too.
For me to call someone racist, it has to be a repeated thing. I think everyone can slip up and say something stupid. Or to be taken out of context. But history doesn't lie.

Since I'm one of the people who have accused others on this board of being a racist, I suppose I should attempt some kind of explanation. I've only said that about one person, Carolina Jazz. CJ has a long documented history with dozens upon dozens of posts lamenting about the 'hip hop' culture of the NBA. It becomes clear after reading several of his rants that his real problem is with with blacks and black culture (or whatever image he/we have of it). Others may disagree with this conclusion, but others agree. In my opinion, he's crossed the line and done so repeatedly. That is why I've made it a point to point it out. CJ may not in his actions be a racist (my dad would say offensive things about blacks at times but he was an honorable man who treated all people fairly and justly, so I tended not to judge him too hard on it), but in his language on this board he is. Personally, I don't like being around racists, or bigots of any stripe.

There is also at times a good deal of, I think, over the line offensive slurs against gays on this board, which I think is also inappropriate.

People are people. Any large gathering of people will have its share of bigots and louts. Calling them out on it on occasion is perfectly OK, particularly when they've clearly or consistently crossed some line.

I agree with this. The problem is that racist (blow me QVC) has become a term used any time someone disagrees with you. If I was you I would not take the intitial post as directed at you. It is for the ones throwing it around like candy in the Trayvon (sp?) Martin case thread and situations like that.
