Can the Jazz bust out the 'big' lineup?

I'm talking more like a gimmick thing for 6 minutes a night doe. That lineup is only really unique because of a 6-6 PG. Im talking something as crazy as Draymond Green at center for a small lineup.

To be clear, I love your lineup and think it is our future starting lineup.
Okay. That would all depend on if Lyles actually has any skills as a SF. I always said if Evans was going to make it in this league he needed SF skills. This guy is bigger and appears to have more SF skills than Evans so.....maybe? I doubt it this year though.

He has some SF skills, but a PF body. He needs to physically transform himself and be more explosive if he's ever going to play the 3. It's all about who you can defend. If he's stuck defending 4's. . . then he's a 4. With that said, I'd rather see them try Lyles at SF before signing Paul Millsap. I think that Lyles slots perfectly for what JazzFanz wanted Millsap back for thb.

The more I think about our draft choices this year, the more I think it's all about versatility. It appears to me that DL and other string pullers in the Jazz Brass want guys who can regularly play multiple positions, in order for Quin to be able to play chess in-game more effectively, based on the other teams' lineups. And if you listen to comments that he's made in the past, talking about how it's not as important to have a player as a defined point guard or shooting guard (for example), it seems that this is the direction he'd like the team be able to go.

It seems as though versatility and all-around skill on both ends of the court are the big assets that the Jazz management seem to be looking for. And if this is the case, in retrospect, I really can't say I blame them. Let's just hope everybody develops the way we hope they will.

Take away the 3 and take away the layup and you force a team to beat you with mid-range jumpers, the least effective shots in the game.

Favors can guard the 3.

I love this lineup the best and I do think Lyles can hit shots - he will adapt to what is needed.

Argh. So we've had to listen to "Burks as a PG" for years.

Now we have to listen Lyle as a SF?

Smh

Come on. Burks is a SG. Nothing else. Lyle is a PF who can do spot mins as a C in a small lineup. But that won't happen for years.

Let this kid develop. When he becomes a solid PF off the bench, then start experimenting.

How many years did we waste trying to make Burks a PG? How much better would he have been if we left him at SG this whole time?

All while costing a whole lot less.

We wasted about 2 months trying Burks as a pg when mo got hurt and all we had was watson and tinsley. So we didn't waste alot of time.

Where we wasted time with alec was playing him behind bell, howard, cj, randy, and dick jeffy.

If Lyles develops a reliable three point shot AND a post game, playing him at the three could be feasible. Since that's a very rare combination of abilities and size, playing three bigs at the same time almost never happens. And I don't expect it to in this scenario in the slightest.

If he develops a three point shot and a post game, you'd be crazy to play him at the three spot.

He'd be a dream PF.

I do agree with you here.

Lyle isn't a three.
