What's new

Can the X-Man era just start now!!

Can someone please tell me what the hell Burke is doing out there!!! The Jazz looked so much better when Exum was in the game.

With Burke is like this. See Burke get the ball Se Burke dribble the ball Se Burke dribbled the ball some more Se Burke shoot an off-balance jumpshot Se Burke brick the J every damn time!!!

I'm not quite with you yet. I don't think Exum is ready for starting minutes. Trey looked pretty good in the preseason and though Exum undoubtedly has the higher talent level, he needs time to grow into it.

This thread was more about my frustration with Burke then Having Exum start. I will say though that Exum is better then I thought he'd be.

getting better every game. it will be good to see him playing against dellavedova on wednesday. I hope he kicks his ***

A few more games like Burke has had and this is going to be like playing McLeod and Palacio over Deron Williams.

Really not the same. Burke is a top ten pick, where as those two were complete scrubs, and Deron was way more polished his rookie year then Exum is now

I said it before the Trey Burke draft and I'll say it again. It would be, was a mistake to pick a pg in that draft.

And I think we should save the last word for Orangello then lock the hell out of this thread.

Burke is the worsed player since the season started. But when you have Kanter as the scapegoat out their, for every **** that is happening on the court, than a player like Burke can shoot 30 percent form the field and no one is focusing. BIG AL argubly was also mentally the strongest person on earth, on every game he was the scapegoat out their, for every player who was not producing on the court. Still, he was strong enough to carry this big burden...

Last I checked McLeod and Palacio combined did not have the collegiate and rookie credentials that Trey Burke had.
I know you have a huge hate hard-on for TB, but Im sure averaging 12, almost 13 points per game and 5 assist per game in a professional basketball season, in which TB played about 65 games is hard to do.

Besides Exum has not had a Deron Williams rookie style game yet. Deron Williams showed his legitimacy the 1st game of his rookie season against Dallass.

THAT being said I feel this season is Quin Snyders season. He picks who he wants, who he doesn't. He, along with the office are working on getting both Enes Kanter and Trey Burke out of here in a package deal for something legitimate. Dante Exum is our man.

Seriously though, Burke has looked outmatched every game so far ... just physically not big enough, not quick enough, not shooting it well enough, not creative enough with his passing.

So what you are saying is he is Patty Mills just without the speed and the lights out shooting.

You know what make up for Patty Mills lack of size.....

I don't think that Exum is ready for starter minutes. I agree with the others that have said that I like the way Exum is being brought along.

Trey has been bad. He has played as bad if not worse than Kanter but Kanter is an easy scape goat for uneducated fans and uneducated media (I'm looking at you Harpring).

I didn't think we'd see this level of play from Exum this fast into the season. He knows what his weaknesses are and he avoids them. The truly impressive thing to me is that while he is avoiding his weak areas he still manages to be effective on the floor. He not prefect and he's made plenty of mistakes but he looks better with every new game.

I think that by February there will be a real controversy on our hands. The controversy won't be who's better but it will be more about is it too soon to give Exum most of his minutes against the stars that play the PG position in the NBA.

As of right now Exum has the 5th highest PER of all rookies. The only players ahead of him are Napier (23 years old), Mirotic (23), Daniels (21), and Ennis (24). Dante is simply far ahead of all other players of his age in understanding the game and playing within himself. Oh, and he also plays a very good defense, athletic, coachable and, by all accounts, works hard in practice. He will become a very good player within a couple of years.

I think the difference is that most here had much higher hopes for Kanter and he has been a major disappointment. Trey has always had a much lower ceiling and has been just as, if not more terrible than Kanter. No one is giving him a pass. Longterm he is not much more than a back up. 25th-35th best player at his position. Just lacks the physical tools and skill set to be an everyday starter.
