Carolina Panthers Guard Taylor Hearn KO'd in streetfight

Being big has very little to do with fighting ability.
I totally agree with you. I was a pretty small kid, through elementary school I was usually the shortest and one of the skinniest kids in my class and usually smaller than most of the kids in the class behind mine. Usually once or twice a year someone would try to pick on me, which meant that once or twice a year I'd get into a fist fight because I absolutely refused to be picked on. I've never been in a fight with anyone smaller than myself and other than fights with my older sister and my best friend who was a year older than me I didn't lose fights.

I hung a tetherball to the clothes line pole (yeah we had a clothes line when I was a kid) about a foot above my head and would practice punching it. When someone is expecting to just be able to pick on you but instead they're getting punched in the face several times it doesn't really matter that they're bigger than you.

My parents put me in karate around first or second grade because of how small I was and they worried I might get picked on. It worked. I wasn't any kind of karate master but it did teach me how to stand and use my torso and punch through the target. I also had pretty good natural punch aiming ability. I watch these athletes throw these wild all-arm punches into the air next to the person they're fighting and it's hilarious. Actually connecting goes a long way to winning a fight.

That reminds me of this. Who would win if these two went at it? A trained killer against one of the world's strongest men.

If they really went at it the Mountain could kill him easily.. end of story.. he could just grab him and choke him to death.

this footage reminds me of the story of Eduard Boupre...

He was a about 8'4" or so and kind of treated like a circus freak, wasn't a simpleton tho spoke several languages. a star at barnum and balieys circus, but he'd do strongman stunts, and wrestle people they had him wrestle a very famous strongman who was known for lifting 500lbs with one finger... and obviously the powerlifter beat him.. If you google "the strongest man who ever lived" that dude, Louis Cyr's name pops up..

died at age 23 Boupre's corpse was preserved and passed around and lost and found a few times.. just a crazy *** story..

For some perspective Rudy's head would go somewhere up to his coat lapels in that picture. His wingspan honestly looks like it's about 8'8".. One of his acts was apparently he'd pick a horse up and put it on his shoulders.....
